The media could not be loaded. Quality speaker from a quality brand. If you are looking for POP or ROCK or similar style speaker, this is not your choice. It has a non-colored sound field, so the quality of the music source determines the musical experience. If you control the music experience with EQ, you get exactly what you want to hear. It can play with frequencies very nicely and delicately. You need the amplifier, otherwise you won't be able to perform at them best.

Speakers are just brilliant! I love every aspect of them. Separate xovers for tweeter and midbass allowed me not to rewire as I installed tweeters to the A- pillar factory position and midbass in the door as usual.Sound is very clear and detailed. Tweeters playing very high and very clear. There are 3 settings of LPF and 3 different settings of the antinuator on crossover for tweeter.Midbasses are not generating huge amount of punch , but delivering WAY more bass than stock speakers. To add a kick I installed Kenwood underseat subwoofer.Speakers are louder compare to stock even without amplifier. To repeat - I am VERY pleased of sound quality produced by this speakers. My setup :Skoda Karoq with Columbus (MIB2.5) without sound system. + relatively cheap DSP with amplifier.Sound deadening of the doors is the MUST ( actually even factory speakers will benefit from this).Do not use 128kbps MP3 to measure quality of speakers , use CD or FLAC

Very Good base and the treble blew me away i had no idea that cymbols were even there in my standard fiesta. I will say that i think that these speakers in my opinion are just slightly missing something in the middle, not quite got the wow factor on some vocals although not terrible i feel that i will need to get some rear speakers to help resolve it.echoing what the other guy said you will need to deaden the doors with dynomat or something, i bought vibe anti vibe kit and well thats just not going to cut it, i am planning a complete overhaul as when i set it to max even coming out of my old 70w per channel panasonic head unit u can actually watch the window seals vibrating when windows are down. For now i just listen on a low volume or set a hpf to cut the base at high volume. One other small gripe i couldn't get the tweeters out the casing without damaging it so i couldn't use factory location in the door, but i have overcome this obstacle by wiring in the dash instead.

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible low end performance

I've installed about 5 sets of different door speakers in my VW T5 and none produced bass like these Focal PS165. When I went from the original Bosch door speakers to a set of MB Quart I noticed a big drop in the fullness of the sound, it really thinned it out. Then I went for a set of uprated VW door speakers from a golf. The fulness was back but there was some loss in clarity. Long story short after several different speakers and much frustration a friend of mine (who's brother owns a car audio installation shop in Poland) suggested I try focal. However after speaking with his brother his suggestion changed to Morel.Due to the price of the Morel Tempo 6 in the UK I ended up buying a set directly from Israel where the factory is. However the Morels took over 3 weeks to arrive and with a planned holiday coming up I decided to try the Focal PS165. Glad I did, I was super impressed when I cracked them up for the first time. I was worried about the harshness of the treble with it having a metal dome tweeter however the Focals are smooth. What surprised me the most was the depth of the bass. The 16.5" woofers go almost as deep as my 10" sub-woofer when mounted and amped correctly. I am giving mine 60watt/channel through a really nice DLS amplifier and the focals push hard. In fact I'm finding it hard to control the bass in the doors now. The whole door starts vibrating even though I've mass loaded most of the panels. If I don't cross them over at 80Hz they go wild. Focal specs say they go down to 60Hz and this is certainly the case.If you can only accommodate front speakers these are all you'll need even without a sub. You will need a good high end head unit (Alpine, Kenwood or Pioneer) with high power output, or a decent amplifier. You'll also need to make sure your doors have plenty of Dynamat or similar and everything is bolted down firmly.I did have a chance to compare the focal PS165 with the Morel Tempo 6 and have to say there is not much difference. The focal have deeper bass and the Morels have a slightly smoother treble. However with both head units I've owned (Blaupunkt and Kenwood) the added treble of the focals was a bonus as both head units are very laid back. I have my focals paired to a Kenwood DNX7210BT and the sound is super smooth with plenty of body (rich and deep). I think this is the perfect match. I wanted to get a sound close to my mates Audi Bose system and I think I am now very close if not a tad better!

Top 2 Wege System für Originalradio ohne Verstärker geeignet

    D. · 4 August 2012

Infos hier -> http://www.Bolo.de/Essential-Yello/dp/B00002568G/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1344071853&sr=8-3Das System macht nun echt Spaß und reizt mich fast dazu einen Verstärker einzubauen, nur um zu sehen was noch so drin ist.Fazit:+ sehr gute Verarbeitung+ geringer Leistungsanspruch (Radio tauglich)+ getrennte Frequenzweiche+ Hochtonweiche einstellbar (+0 db, -3db, -6db + drei verschiedene Trennfrequenzen, die schon enormen Klangunterschied bedeuten!)+ gute Hochtonauflösung, klare Höhen+ guter Tiefbass bei Radioleistung (hier mal die Kirche im Dorf lassen und nicht mit nem Subwoofer vergleichen!)- keine Lautsprecherkabel beiliegend (am Hochtöner ca. 30 cm Kabel angelötet)- Hochtöner klingt leicht hartIch würde dieses System jederzeit wieder kaufen!

    Near Perfection for Daily Listening

    M.A. · 20 August 2014

I can't begin to describe how amazing this component set is. Never before have I heard such clear and natural sound with no distortion in a car stereo! I'll break down the elements of the sound here.First, my car setup - I am running these speakers off of a Rockford Fosgate Prime 250x4 in a 2013 Mazda 3 sedan (non-Bose). Head unit is a JVC KW-NSX1. It is currently bi-amped, meaning that each woofer and tweeter gets its own channel. In total, I'm running about 80 watts to each woofer/tweeter, for a total for 320 watts. With this method of setting up the speakers, it is very easy to fine tune the sound to exactly what you want, one step down from an active crossover. Tweeters are set at 0dB and phase 2. 16 gauge pure copper wire was used (Monoprice) and the crossovers are mounted in the kick panels to have the shortest possible distance from the speakers. The woofer is mounted with a PVC adapter as the stock speakers are oval shaped, and they are mounted with XTC speaker baffles, cut open on the bottom half to allow more air space. Initially, I had the car doors undampened, but I have since put in sound deadener (KnuKonceptz Kno Knoise Kolossus Edition) to kill all the resonance and create a stiffer panel. With these speakers, SOUND DEADENER IS NECESSARY. Otherwise, you will lose out on a lot of detail and get a whole lot of resonance, which really ruins the sound.Frequency response - With the head unit EQ set to flat and the gain on the woofer and tweeter channels set equal, these speakers have a very flat frequency response. They go down to about 60 Hz, but I have the high-pass filter set at 80 Hz so that the sub takes care of the low frequencies. Don't expect massive bass from these, as they were designed to be used with a subwoofer, as any mid to high end system would require. Mids are very present and striking. You really feel the kick drum in your chest, and guitars are brought to life. Vocals are also gorgeous and detailed. Even instrumental pieces, such as Yiruma's River Flows in You or the intro to OneRepublic's Secrets sound accurate and rich, like you're right there listening live. Highs are also excellent without being too harsh, but there is a bit of sibilance (that squeaking sound you hear on high-pitched S sounds). This is no big deal and seems to be getting better with more play time as the speakers break in. It's also solvable with the EQ - just turn down the highs a bit. All in all, the speakers have an audiophile level frequency response and really shine with vocals. It's like the singer is standing right in front of you, as you can hear every detail, including breaths and sustain. One interesting note - you can actually hear cymbals crashing and sustaining with these. Normally you wouldn't hear that individual instrument, but you can with the Focals! Instrument separation is clear and even, with the mids being a bit more present. They also sound great in a v-shaped EQ, if you're looking for a more impactful sound. When installing these speakers, make sure the tweeters are placed at a shallow angle. The sound waves should mix right above the shifter/slightly behind the dash, but not directly in front of the driver or passenger! If you do this, the sound will be very separated, which doesn't sound very good. Having it mix forward of the listener will make a more natural sound that is much more realistic. This also prevents very harsh highs, as high frequencies are very directional and require correct placement for optimal sound.Make sure you use an amp with these! Running it off of stock power, or even aftermarket head unit power will not work. They require at least 80 watts RMS, but I wouldn't be afraid to run them at 200 watts each for even better sound. Too much clean power almost never blows a speaker, but too little power with a dirty, clipped signal does! These speakers also reveal every flaw in a musical recording, as do high-end headphones. You'll know immediately if the music file you're listening to is of low quality. Make sure you have 320kbps MP3s, lossles files, such as FLAC and Apple Lossless. Store-bought CDs are good too, as they are normally burned with lossless quality. When you rip CDs to put on an iPod/phone, make sure you rip them in lossless quality as well. There is also a constant hissing sound at low volumes/between songs, which is also characteristic of high end headphones and speakers with low impedance. Once the music starts, it goes away immediately, so there is no issue there. When set up properly, these are amazing, flat, realistic, great sounding speakers. Definitely worth the money. Make sure you set them up properly, deaden your doors, and give them enough power, and they'll really sing. Great for every genre, but especially good for acoustic/vocals. Paired with a good subwoofer (running an SA-12 D2 off 1400 watts in a sealed box), you'll have lifelike music that makes you feel like you're in the recording studio with the band you're listening to. With a fully active setup, these could be the key to making your car sound better than almost anything else on the road. If you're looking for serious power, check out the Focal Power line, which can be run at 2 ohms and have better power handling. For SQ and daily listening, these are just perfect.

    Ottimo Kit

    L. · 8 February 2023

Top

    Ottimo Kit

Top
