I bought it as a Christmas present for my wife and son who love waffles.I made the right choice as this makes great waffles!I read all the reviews of this before buying and people mention about it 'falling apart' when you turn it over. Well, strictly speaking it can do- but not the whole thing, just the clasp on the handles. This is no big problem and to overcome it, simply hold the handles gently and further down. I don't think I'd call it a design flaw as such, just one of those things that can't be avoided.My attitude towards that problem is that this is a real waffle maker and not some plug in and hear a ping type thing. You need to perfect the technique and get used to it.The waffles it produces are simply brilliant. I bought the Aunt Jemima mix and although not cheap at £8 odd, it's very good. I intend to create my own mix from now on though and have found a great authentic Norwegian waffle blog with variations on the basic waffle (one with vanilla sounds tasty)A few downsides to cooking on a stove top- the black none stick coating can easily be scratched on the outside but other than the look of it, is not a real problem.Also, if you have a big family then don't get their hopes up about eating endless waffles within a few minutes- it takes a while and from first batch to last could be a good 15 mins. This might be good or bad depending on how you think food should be eaten.In terms of cooking tips, let me recommend spraying or wiping with a decent veg or olive oil before every use. Also, don't forget to keep turning during cooking.It is hard to know when done but have a peep inside and see. But a good few mins on each side is average. I do mine on a large gas ring at mid setting.I over did one set and they weren't nice once they started turning brown.Also, heat the iron up before pouring the first mix in on each waffle cook. I have found that my second and third batches produce better waffles and I conclude that is because it has heated up on the first batch.I do honestly think though that this could be cheaper than it is, as it really isn't anything too amazingly special. It does the job, I love it, great results but if it were cheaper, I'd think it was about the right price and I'd buy several for all the family.So, unless you can find this cheaper somewhere else then this is the one to buy. And after making your own waffles you will probably pull a face and go 'yuk' if anyone offers you a mass produced waffle ever again. So be warned - if you buy this there is no going back to shop bought waffles.

Love it! I heated it up on medium-high for a few minutes, until water sizzled and danced when it hit it, brushed it with a teensy bit of melted butter, and cooked each waffle for about 2.5 minutes, flipping every 30 seconds. As long as the iron is hot enough, they shouldn't stick. No issues with the handles. I was a bit worried it wouldn't work as well on my electric hob, but I had no problem. I don't have storage space for an electric waffle maker and don't want a cheap machine that will break in a couple of years and end up in a landfill, so this is perfect.

Works really well; I'm very please with my first venture into waffle pans & makers. The plates are non-stick and can detach from each other for storage and cleaning purposes. The unit comes with two, plastic-ended handles that can be screwed in and out and have a clasp so you can fix the handles together and the keep the plates pressed firmly together while turning and cooking the waffles.PROS:- Non-stick plates - very easy to remove the waffles afterwards even if the plates aren't greased, although it is generally recommended by most recipes to do this.- Easy to Clean - this was very important to me because making waffles is fun but cleaning up is dull. The non-stick means there's rarely much to clean up but the plates are also detachable to make it easier to wash.- Compact - it's not a large unit and the handles can be screwed off so it is very easy to keep away.- Heats up Quickly - if you put the pan on the stove for about 1 minutes on each side before putting your first load of waffle batter in, it's more than enough. I thought this was very quick as many electric waffle maker instructions seems to say the machine must preheat for 5 minutes.CONS:- Handle quality - it's not unsafe and still heat proof BUT it's the little things like the fact that they don't quite lie flat against each and clasp together when fully screwed in so you have to slightly unscrew them for it to work. I just feel like the plates are such good quality and the handles don't quite match it but it's not a deal breaker.

Good iron but the non stick is starting to come away after only 3 uses, so my advice would be to wash and handle very carefully if you want an extended life. As long as I brush a little oil on the plates before each waffle it's a breeze to use. Fun too.

Brilliant piece of kitchen kit!The whole thing comes apart for very easy cleaning, you can get into all the nooks and crannies. Handles unscrew, the plates slide apart, easy.I had one of these years ago and it was not non-stick, a real pain in the butt to get the waffle out, it only made one at a time. This non-stick double waffle iron makes 2 large deep waffles.Tip: Make sure the iron is very hot before you put the first batch of batter in, I found that a half cup measure is a nice amount and doesn't overflow the edges. Quickly spread the batter over the plate, so that you get an even square waffle, close the lid and either put the clip in place or not as you like, it makes no differance to the finished waffle. I have arthritis so the clip is a bit of a nightmare, just hold the handles closed. Turn the iron over after a couple of minutes to cook the other side of the waffle. Take a peek and if it is nicely browned your waffles are cooked. If you can see the steam escaping, when that stops the waffle is supposedly done, but I like my waffles golden coloured not anemic looking.Use a spatula suitable for non-stick pans to remove the waffles and cut in half down the centre.Waffles (and pancakes) freeze very well. Put the waffle under the grill for a couple of minutes to warm and spread with your favourite topping.

Cuit très bien dessus et dessous à condition de le retourner au cours de la cuisson.Vraiment top. Pas de regret comparé au gaufrier électrique. De plus, il se démonte et les plaques peuvent tremper dans l'eau pour le nettoyage.Aucun regret de mon achat. Je recommande.Le seul petit bémol est que les deux poignées qui se vissent ne tombent pas exactement l'une en face de l'autre (c'est dit dans un commentaire avant moi) mais cela ne gêne pas la prise en mains. A revoir par Kitchenkraft.

Una máquina sencilla que hacer lo que tiene que hacer. Waffles muy buenos y crujientes. Es fácil de montar y desmontar para lavar. Como es hierro forjado se cocina igualmente por todos partes. Estoy muy contenta con mi compra. Un diez.

Little pricey but good product

Good product, a little pricey for what it is but not bad. Cooks well on my gas stove but you need to make sure to pre heat the plate and rotate it regularly for even cooking (cook on lowest heat) and I use spray on oil just to be safe.
