This softener is brilliant if your using older clay or professional type clay where its hard to mix, just a little can help , it does not affect the colour of the clay your using unless you use way too much because then it will dilute it, not necessarily weakening the bake but just diluting the colour. I bought some clay and stored it for ages (forgot about for years) when I went back to it I couldn't mix it to soften it but with this I crumbled the old clay into it and managed to work it into a pliable consistency I was most impressed. I ran it through the clay roller a couple of times which saved hand ache too.

I've heard of this product but I've never used it. I've only got back into polymer clay and most have gone stiff as they're more than 10 years old. You do have to be careful not to add too much as it can go too sticky as you're supposed to add 2/3 to no more than 1/3 of Mix Quick. You have to make sure they're throughly mixed properly.Overall it does the job as it was very soft and I highly recommend it.

I bought fimo professional polymer clay and was surprised at just how hard it was to work with. So I bought this to help make it softer - and helps a bit but still found it difficult to add details and manipulate the clay.

This is useless.Bought to soften up some rock solid Fimo soft (the irony) and gave up after kneading on and off for an entire evening with zero difference except painful hands.Long story short - Googled and found out the teeniest bit of water (wet fingertips) could work magic - and it did! - buttery soft fimo at last.
