The 'Hypertonic' formula has a higher concentration of salt than the one in your body cells, creating the 'osmotic effect', meaning it will decongest and unblock. Sterimar& Congestion Relief helps you breathe better, naturally. Free From steroids, drugs and preservatives, this product has no side effects. This treatment is suitable for everyone from 3 years and up, including pregnant women & breastfeeding mothers. Can be used after nose surgery or injury. This product isn't a medicine but is a medical device. The spray technology combines a sterile valve-pocket system that contains Nitrogen as inert propellant gas in the pressurised device. The propellant gas does not come in contact with the solution. The specific tip allows a gentle microdiffusion for safe administration of the solution in the nasal cavity and is easy to use at any angle.
Use it 2 to 6 times a day until the nose is unblocked, or as long as your doctor recommends. Sterimar Congestion Relief can be used on its own or with other nasal medication based on the advice of a doctor. Release the spray by briefly pressing the nozzle. Keeping the head straight, insert the nozzle into the nostril. Spray once or twice into each nostril. Let any excess solution flow out and then blow your nose. I have used this product before and it does help. It is not a decongestant, but it does make clearing your nose easier.However I do have problems actually using it. I find the odd shaped nozzle really awkward, and quite often the spray ends up on my cheeks instead of up my nose. I don’t know why or how this happens, but I’ve never been sure whether you activate the spray by just pressing down which isn’t easy given the irregular shaped nozzle, or you press the nozzle on one side which then alters the angle of the top and that means it squirts other than where you intended it to.I would say that for long term use the saline powder sachets together with an applicator would be more economical and effective.
