Excellent piece of kit to keep a good edge on scissors.

The product is excellent and the sissors become razor sharp. Note there are no Instructions so look for a video on You Tube to see how to use it. Basicly, open the sissors put the in as far as they'll go and then close them and pull backwards.Do not push you will dull the sissors even more.

Works well and easy to use on ever day scissors I wouldn’t want to risk using it on expensive scissors, ie sewing scissors, as it’s not adjustable on the angle also not a very solid construction. It states it’s for right hand scissors due to the design means you stabilise /hold the black side but it’s easy to pop out the gray sharpening bit and turn it around to allow it to be used by left hand users.

This scissor sharpener was recommended to me and I'm thankful that it was.Having blunted 2 pairs of korrebond scissors I picked up from the supermarket (through lots of use) I was treated to a pair or fiskars dressmaking scissors for Christmas, which I then dropped and ruined. I bought this in the hope of restoring at least one of my blunt/ damaged scissor collection and it has brought all 3 pairs back to like new in terms of sharpness.I've since used it to sharpen several pairs; kitchen scissors, kid's scissors and it has worked on all of them. The only thing it can't sharpen is a small pair (nail size) that I have because they are too small to fit.Absolutely fantastic gadget that will save us from shelling out on new scissors for a while!It's lighter than I expected but that's irrelevant and merely an observation as it works so well.

This has done a good job of rejuvenating my various pairs of kitchen scissors. However, they do not come with any instructions. You need to insert the scissors all the way into the slots without them touching the sharpening blades, then pull them back over the sharpening blades, as though you are cutting them. If you push the scissors over the sharpening blades as you insert them, they may end up worse than when you started (as other reviewers have commented). You only have to do this a few times to get them sharp again.

I do a lot of dressmaking and have 2 pairs of really nice scissors which do get blunt. One pair is proper paper cutting scissors and the other is a cheap but good set of dressmaking shears. Currently I pay someone every 3 moths to sharpen these and it is getting pricey.I bought these as I wanted an at home solution. Where I live, I have to go out of my way to drop off and collect scissors I send for sharpening. This was hopefully going to be a good solution following a lot of research done in to it.The product itself does come across as flimsy and cheap, it is also very lightweight.My scissors do not fit. the gap for the blade is too narrow so of no use. Its a great concept and I see how it would work but it does not work for the pairs I need sharpening regularly. Oh well back to the drawing board.
