A decent low cost grinder. The switch has a safety mechanism which makes it a tad hard to turn on if you have the thing set up so the switch is on the underside. The guard is easy to adjust and effective. Powerful and sturdy. It comes with a special tool to attach the discs - don’t lose it!

The usual high Makita quality. There's a reason they are so popular with the tradesmen. Not sure I personally like the little locking switch though - I wish I'd bought one with paddle switch instead. It would be so easy to fumble and drop this tool when your handling it wearing gloves to protect your hands, and then with a locking switch it will be dancing around the floor causing mayhem. Just need to be careful, I guess. For some reason mine came fitted with a molded European 2 pin plug, rather than the UK 3 pin, so I had to cut the cable and fit one myself. I'm suspecting this has been bought on the continent where they are perhaps cheaper, and then imported into the UK via white van man. Other than that, though, it was all as expected. Just make sure you have a spare plug handy, in case you need to swap it too.

Light powerful and compact grinder, I was even more impressed when it packed up and I had to repair it- spares easily found, and the build quality means that replacing a part is easy.(Trigger unit destroyed by abrasive stone dust)…

Nice balance, light weight and slim grip make jobs less tiring. Tightening the disks is still a bit fiddly, pressing down the button to lock the spindle, but the key is a decent length to get leverage. Don't like the on-off switch much - looks cheap and nasty, and can be awkward to operate. Overall: good.

This is a good tool. Easy to set up and use although the disc release mechanism is not the best. However much the same on most makes. Used 3 or 4 times in a domestic situation with good results. However in an industrial situation with heavy use I would be perhaps be a little less confident. We shall see!!!

This is really good. Did some research and Makita grinders came out tops over other makes, as they have stronger bearings. This one is light and comfortable to use. It was an extremely good price, at less than a third of similar Makita models obtainable locally,, there are dozens in the Makita range. used it a lot recently demolishing part of a garden railway four blocks thick and concrete infill. This tool has been invaluable. checking an Australian review on U tube for this model, he had to retap the thread for the handle on the left side, and guess what, my handle was difficult to fit on the left, but I screwed the handle in and out a few times and the thread cleared and everything was OK. I didn't have a tap that size anyway, or I would have run it through. Light touch and keep the revs up, diamonds have to turn fast to be effective.

Makita is a very well respected and excellent brand. I bought this to cut down some concrete paving slabs and grind down 2 metal spikes in the garden.This machine made light work of both. Very well manufactured and very solid built.I would definitely recommend this product to anyone.Thank youMark

Tiene una potencia justa, pero es ligera facil de usar, economica, no falla, te lo dice un experto , llevo muchos años usando radiales hilti, metabo, bosch y todas de una u otra forma han cascado, y esta pequña bestia no, no entendia como una radial tan pequeña y su potencia duraban tanto, de hecho la tengo desde hace 6 años y como nueva, es dura como la piedra, y muy economica os la recomiendo sin pensarlo.
