Being German this was the only marzipan I could buy online, and the price was extortionate, but for only a Birthday gift - I had no choice.Chocolate is very dark and the cherry on the top is a beautiful steeped in alcohol glace cherry sat on a bed of marzipan, which isn't over sweet. So more almonds than sugar in the mix.Only 8 Chocolates in the box (or 6) They were gone so quick, I didn't have chance to count them!Quick delivery though.

Luckily I like marzipan cos there's a lot of it these chocs and unfortunately no liqueur that I could taste. Quite big but not alot of flavour, bit disappointing.

I was surprised there that were only six chocolates in the box and the quality of the chocolates could have been better for the money. Having said that the chocolate used was of good quality. The maraschino cherry sits on top of the marzipan and there was only a small amount of Kirsch surounding the cherry between the chocolate and marzipan. The marzipan was good quality and tasted good. In the past I have had these marzipan cherry chocolates where the cherry is placed in the centre of the marzipan where there is more Kirsch and the taste of the Kirsch melds together offering a bigger flavour.

I GOT THESE BECAUSE THEY LOOKED LIKE REALLY GOOD CHOCOLATE COVERED CHERRIES. BOY WAS I WRONG!! THE CHOCOLATE WASN'T JUST DARK. IT WAS EXTREMELY BITTER. THERE WAS A CHERRY WITH A LITTLE BIT OF LIQUID, BUT TASTED NOTHING LIKE WHAT I EXPECTED. AT THE BOTTOM OF IT WAS WHAT THEY CALLED MARZIPAN. APPARENTLY I HAVE NEVER EATEN THAT. IF I HAD, I WOULD NOT HAVE BOUGHT THESE. THERE WERE ONLY 6 CHERRIES INSIDE THE BOX, WHICH WAS VERY OVERPRICED! BUT IN THE END, THAT WAS OK BECAUSE I JUST PUT THEM WHERE I SPIT THE FIRST ONE...IN THE TRASH! I LOOKED ON THE BOX TO SEE WHERE THEY CAME FROM, BUT IT WAS NOT IN ENGLISH. I DID FINALLY FIND THE WORD "GERMANY." I LOVE GERMAN CHOCOLATE CAKE. BUT I'M PRETTY SURE THAT RECIPE DID NOT COME FROM GERMANY! THE ONLY TASTE IN THE WHOLE PIECE OF CANDY WAS BITTER. NO SWEET TASTE AT ALL! OH, AND THE MARZIPAN HAD NO TASTE EITHER, BUT HAD THE CONSISTENCY OF SOFT GRITS! TRYING 1 PIECE WAS TRULY DISGUSTING!

I opened this up before I did anything else the day it arrived. I LOVE cherries and marzipan is my all-time favorite! Sounds like a treat custom made for me.It was an enormous disappointment! The chocolate had the consistency of old wax, the cherry “gel” tasted only of sugar with only a slight hint of cherry and the marzipan!The marzipan felt like sand in my mouth and they seemed to have found a way to reduce marzipan to dry “cake” that tasted like……well, it tasted of NOTHING!For the price of that tiny box with five foil-wrapped pieces, I expected something better. Something far better than what I received.Pass this by unless you want an expensive little box of candy that has unpleasant textures and NO taste of cherry OR marzipan!
Tasty and affordable
These are actually pretty good! The marzipan mixed with a whole cherry makes for a tasty combo. They make a great little gift or stocking stuffer—especially since the price is surprisingly low. Definitely worth giving a try!
