I used this on scale infested Taxus Baccata (Yew) toipary balls. Insecticide is a last resort for me but I'd purchased a number a yew toipary at great cost, some of which became heavily infested and the rest likely to become infested in close proximity.Ants trailing up and down the shrub stems were a dead give away as they love the scale insect honeydew. I'd tried organic methods but failed on this front.We applied 1 treatment of Bug Clear in May with a cheap garden drum/ rod sprayer from Bolo. We did a leaf drench and sprayed base of stem to drip into the soil.All scales were successfully 'treated' after 1 application. This was evident after 2 weeks. No return of the blighters so far. We've just applied another August/ pre autumn treatment just to be sure.The product works. Treat it with care and sparingly, read instructions carefully. Apply on dry, still day to avoid drift.

Instead of buying the individual bottles for £8-10 it is much better value for money to purchase these and dilute them down into your own bottles for further use, I can make 10 x 1l spray bottles with this.I have had great results spraying on foliage, I also spray the root area so this product is absorbed better into the plant for sucking insects and foliage spray can be hit and miss.I have included the product instructions & ingredients for those interested!

I will only use pesticides as a very last resort. I had a massive outbreak of mealybug in my plant window leading to around 20 plants being heavily infested. I had tried all organic avenues such as spraying with organic pest control such as SB invigorator, but this only works on contact and of course, mealybugs hid in crevices, bracts and places where this spray cannot reach. I then invested in biological controls, but the conditions in my lounge are not right for them, and they all died within 24 hours (two types of biological control - £50 down the drain). By this time, the situation was completely out of hand and my plants were crawling. It was then a "kill or cure" situation and I didn't want to throw my plants out as some of them are over 20 years old. I bought this stuff and sprayed the bugs once a week for four weeks. They are all gone. This stuff is also systemic, so it will penetrate the plant tissue and continue to provide protection for many weeks after treatment - long enough to kill any mealybugs that are hatching from eggs. I would recommend quarantining your plants as they become clear for a week or two, however, just to be sure that the bugs don't come back!

I'm a newbie gardener and I'm trying my hand at tomatoes this year. I was worried because on a different garden plant greenfly, blackfly and leaf miners have seriously attacked. I had been treating with Neem oil and other organic sprays and nothing seemed to help and then the recent hot spell I spotted a few black and greenfly on my toms so I purchased this to stop the attack. I sprayed late yesterday afternoon once the sun had moved and this morning I can't find a single greenfly in the garden. I don't know if this has stopped the leaf miner yet but first impressions are good. I've knocked a start off because of the product size. 200ml is rather small for the price. I will update this review as my toms grow and the insect population gets greedy. Edit - the weather has been incredibly hot here in Blackpool and a full week after the first use I hadn't noticed a single insect on my tomatoes but sadly today the greenfly and blackfly are back. The numbers on my sticky traps are unbelievable but the numbers on my plants weren't bad but not good either so this evening as the sun moved around I repeat sprayed to be safe. I purchased a new sprayer so hopefully I've got better coverage. I will update again after a week. Fingers crossed I can tell you they are all gone again 🤞 I will just add this has been working much better than anything else I've tried.

'Systemic' is absorbed through the roots, and into the plant. This claims to be systemic, but the instructions are for it to be sprayed on the plant, which doesn't work for fruiting plants, as they rely on flying insects for pollination. Therefore, it is not fit for purpose. I had opened it, and mixed it before seeing the 'spray' part of the instructions. Be aware of the King's new clothes of 'systemic'.
