It feel sturdy and well made and I picked it because of the maker Master Lock because all my own locks are by this manufacturer and I have necer had any trouble since I have been using them.

Slightly more difficult than the Master Lock 3 due to a smaller keyway and one safety pin, this is a pretty useful lock for people trying to get into lockpicking without too much frustration. I was able to open it in a little less than an hour on my first attempt (after only opening the Master Lock 3 and some cheap transparent "locks").Would recommend to beginners, probably too easy for anyone more experienced.Also good for locking things you want to be stolen.

Easy to pick open,I bought this as a practice lock for locksport so that is what I wanted though, many beginners in locksport can open this padlockThe lock is vulnerable to comb picking which means that it can be opened in a couple of seconds by anyone with a comb pick toolThe lock has spool pins and standard pinsBecause of the fact that this lock is so easy to pick open, it can be picked in a matter of seconds, I can't at all recommend this for securing any valuables with it, this lock is pretty much just there to keep honest people honest,It is hard to give a lock like this a star rating because of what I wanted it for, if you want It to practice locksport then I would give it 5/5 and I would recommend it to any and all beginners, but unfortunately for security it would have to be a 1/5.

As someone else has mentioned, what you get is not a Master lock branded product, the item received is a "Magnum + 50EURD".It seems like a re-branded lock for the European market perhaps.The lock core seems similar to the Master branded product - 5 pins, some security pins, Master lock style keyway.The main differences are the body. In the Magnum lock the body is made from mild steel that has been painted gold - perhaps more robust than a brass body but certainly not as weather resistant.The shackle is hardened, but the chrome plating would indicate that a cheap steel has been used. Master branded locks often use a much higher quality through-hardening steel that is more corrosion resistant.In conclusion: this seems like a budget brand owned by Master to sell cheap locks in the European market. Don't buy this if you're intending to secure something you don't want to get stolen as it provides almost no protection.I personally bought this as a lock picking practise lock - I can confirm at least the lock mechanism is decent - 5 pins, some security pins. But that really doesn't make up for the shoddy quality of the rest of the lock.

Anywhere you want a big decorative lock you won't go wrong with these. Don't try to use them on small hasps though, they won't go through the hole.
