I have wavy/curly hair (2c/3a curls) but find my hair gets weighed down easily by products. This gel has a strong enough hold for me but does not feel at all heavy or sticky, so is perfect for my hair. The bright blue colour is a bit off putting at first, but it feels very natural when in your hair. As it is not too heavy, it dries quite quickly (if air drying) and leaves a cast which can be scrunched out. Once scrunched out, I can't even tell I have product in my hair as it leaves no residue. I usually style my hair by using a little bit of the Cantu Curl Activator Cream on wet hair, then use a denman brush to style my curls, then scrunch in this LA Looks Sport Gel and the end result is soft, shiny curls. The only negatives I can think of are that it is not as strong hold as some other gels (e.g. Harry's Sculpting Gel) so it can be more difficult to refresh (and also I am a bit more careful when diffusing than I would be when using a stronger gel), but it is still the gel I use most often. The price is also a definite plus as the bottle is very large so you get a lot of product for your money. It's worth noting that the price fluctuates on Bolo so if you like this gel it's worth keeping an eye out and buying it when the price goes down (it's now currently showing as £7.95 but I've also seen it for £12).

I have curly hair and have spent a small fortune on different brands of hair gel that are classed as 'curly hair gel'. I have yet to find one that actually creates a cast, they usually just leave my hair feeling greasy. This gel creates a cast which is what my hair needs in order to keep my hair from going into a frizzy mess. Once my hair is dry I carefully break the cast and my curls are nice and soft and keep their shape. The next day I just have to wet my hair a bit and do a refresh and I'm good to go. It's a very big bottle so it lasts a long time.

I’ve been following the curly girl method for about 9 months now and tried 8 different gels so far. This one is the best I’ve tried yet, and despite the very high postage cost, is still one of the cheaper ones I’ve bought. I get a lot of comments about the shine and curl definition, and it’s great at fighting frizz in the humid area I live in. Following the curly girl method, I’d recommend using a good amount on soaking wet hair, wrapping your hair in a t-shirt or microfiber towel and scrunching the crunchiness out after it's completely dry. Works great for me 👍

Been using this for years and never disappoints. Great for curls as alcohol free. Does make hair crnbchy but once scrunched leaves curls soft and natural looking with great hold.

Hold isn't that stiff. Quite dissappointing. Maybe not using enough but i was hoping for a better hold, without going full wet look by using lots of gel. But good for curly girl methods due to the ingredients.

I have been working towards healthy curls without using silicones and sulfates so this gel is perfect for what I want. It is a strong hold gel however I applied to very wet hair so it wasn't to strong. Once my hair was dry I scrunched out the cast leaving my curls soft and shiny. I would definitely recommend this for curlies and for putting your hair up. I've used some very expressive gels and not got as good results and for the price it's fantastic. Edit- a year later and I still think this gel is one of the keepers! Works so well for me and would highly recommend to anyone with similar hair to mine. Fine, medium density, higher porosity.

I'm a man, using this for spiked up hair. It just causes a LOT of white flakes, the sort of stuff you'd expect from dirt cheap hair gel.Alberto Balsam is the only hair gel I've used that gives me no flakes at all.

No more frizzy roots

No matter what I tried, I couldn't get the frizz under control.After reading more about gel casts in curly hair routines, I decided to give this a shot based on recommendations, and I'm so glad I did. One try was all it took to see a difference. I used it over a small amount of curl cream and let it form a cast, then scrunched it out once dry. My roots were smooth, my curls looked defined and soft, and there was no crunch or stiffness left behind.The bottle is big, smells fresh, and for the price? Actually a steal. Highly recommend to anyone struggling with frizz, especially at the roots.

I use a dapple of this on my hair straight out of the shower. Holds my hair thicker and stiffer in place.

Better than most other expensive gels, gives great results for my coils.

Gel de pelo eficaz, con poco olor, en un formato grande 👍 Yo soy practicante del método curly desde hace 10 años y es sólo en los últimos 2 años que he empezado a encontrar productos apropiados para este método más fácilmente aquí. Este gel me ha ayudado mucho, siendo uno con bastante fuerza para controlar mi pelo MUY encrespado pero sin ser pegajoso, y sale muy bien el sentido acartonado estrujando una vez seco el pelo. No tiene silicona y se quita con agua muy fácilmente tb, y en el formato grande en que viene dura mucho.

As always the best gel. The staying power is strong. It can get crunchy but a little hair oil relaxes the crunch. Good staying power. I wear a bonnet to bed and can refresh the gel by spritzing with a little water in the morning and a couple of scruches and its just like new.
