Under a thick carpet of green-dyed yak fur and wonderfully expressive Rick Baker makeup, is up to all of his old tricks (and some nifty new ones) in this live-action movie of Dr. Seuss's holiday classic. He commands the title role with equal parts madness, mayhem, pathos, and improvisational genius, channeling Grinchness through his own screen persona so smoothly that fans of both Carrey and Dr. Seuss will be thoroughly satisfied. Adding to the fun is a perfectly pitched back-story sequence (accompanied by narration) that explains how the Grinch came to hate Christmas, with a heart "two sizes too small." Ron Howard proves a fine choice for the director's chair with a keen balance of comedy, sentiment, and light-hearted Seussian whimsy. Production designer Michael Corenblith gloriously realizes the wackiness of Whoville architecture, and his rendition of the Grinch's Mt. Crumpit lair is a marvel of cartoonish, subterranean grime. Then there's Cindy Lou Who (Taylor Momsen), the thoughtful imp who rallies her village to recapture the pure spirit of Christmas and melts the gift-stealing Grinch's cold, cold heart. You've even got a dog (the Grinch's good-natured mongrel, Max) who's been perfectly cast, so what's not to like about this dazzling yuletide movie? The production gets a bit overwhelmed by its own ambition, and the citizens of Whoville (including Jeffrey Tambor, Christine Baranski, Molly Shannon, and Bill Irwin) pale in comparison to Carrey's inspired lunacy, but who cares? If a movie can unleash Jim Carrey at his finest, revamp the Grinch story, and still pay tribute to the legacy of Dr. Seuss, you can bet it qualifies as rousing entertainment. I love this movie. Jim Carrey is his usual over the top the self and brings such a humour and magic to the movie. It is hard to believe that this film is in it's 13th year, it is timeless and certainly a classic in my family. A heart warming, and funny journey through adversity, self discovery and secret lustings. Everything a Christmas movie should be, and of course, not forgetting the wonderful prose of Dr Suess, A must buy!

You could use any frosting you like on this cake but my family enjoys the pineapple along with the lemon flavor.1 lemon cake mix (I used Duncan Hines 16.5 ounce Lemon Supreme Signature Cake Mix)1 (3.4 ounce) Jello Instant Lemon Pudding4 eggs1 1/4 cups 7-up or any lemon lime drink3/4 cup vegetable oilCombine all ingredients and mix well with mixer. Spray 2 (8 inch) cake pans and divide batter. Bake in preheated 325 degree oven for 35-40 minutes testing for doneness as ovens vary. Let cool and frost with your favorite frosting or the pineapple filling recipe below. Enjoy!Pineapple Filling for 7-Up Cake1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple, undrained1 stick butter or margarine or 8 tablespoons or 1/2 cup1 cup sugar2 eggs2 tablespoons all-purpose flour1 1/2 cups coconutMix pineapple, butter, sugar, eggs and flour together. Cook on medium heat until thickens. (I bring this to a low boil, turn down and cook about five minutes stirring often). Remove and add coconut. Let cool and spread between cooled cake layers and on top of cake.Note: This cake should be refrigerated.

Jim Carrey as the Gringe, the Gringe didn't care very much for Christmas causing chaos around the cute well lit Christmas villagestealing all the presents and burning the Christmas tree. Living in a tall reach home along with his inventions and the garbage, using an onion as a deodorant typical Jim Carry very very funny a brilliant film. In the end he and his long suffering pet companion realise what Christmas is all about and the Gringe finds love AH!!!Poppy's verdict.- Good family entertainment, a must to ad to all those Christmas films, highly recommended.

I can't get through Christmas with out watching this film at least once. I like to watch the film while doing my last minute Christmas wrapping up or cooking preparations.I love the story and although not a big fan of Jim Carey- he really nails the role of the mean Grinch, with wonderfully dry and witty comments.It's almost like watching a re-telling of 'A Christmas Carol'- with Scrooge(The Grinch) being redeemed although fighting against his rehabilitation- with flashbacks to his past, which explain how his character ended up being so hard and mean.With happy endings all round- you must buy and enjoy it!

Compramos este artículo porque somos unos viciados a las películas de Navidad y nos faltaba en nuestra colección. Una película encantadora y en realidad uno de los clásicos. Ideal para personas con niños ya que el humor es bastante adaptado para los peques.Nosotros compramos la version del Reino Unido, para verla en Inglés y en la carátula pone que sólo viene con Audio y Subtitulos en Inglés.
