Working in private security I've used a number different makes/types of torches and foun d Maglite the best. I hadn't realised the extent of the Maglite range and was pleased to see the 2D version was available as I normally use a 3D which I must admit I find a bit too bulky. A "satisfying" weight and very robust the 2D has been an excellent buy. The beam strength and variation are excellent for work and around the stables/paddocks. The best thing in this case was the price!! Amazing and super fast delivery, I thought there was bound to ba a catch ... but no. Excellent product and supplier service.

The Maglite 2D incandescent is a well made torch which will outlast just about any other torch. For example I still have my original one from the late 80s which still works perfectly. The incandescent model represents a good purchase when you consider the price against an led equivalent. I upgrade my Maglites with drop in led modules which are available from specialist suppliers who provide various drop in upgrades in wattages depending on your needs. Considering brightness versus battery life, I have different upgrades in each torch depending on its intended use. Plus this means I can do future upgrades if needed. I therefore purchased this torch to put a different upgrade in it compared to my other torches. An led will transform your incandescent Maglite into super bright torch with a focussing beam, a feature I really like. Maglites have a nice build quality, are robust, feel good in the hand, and can be relied upon when you need them.

We bought this as a gift for my Dad who at 82 years old, enjoys scaring the pants off us by plunging off at night, into the dark, to walk our labrador. All very well but neither Dad nor Lab can see very well in the dark and that was just asking for trouble. This torch is a good size, not too big and heavy that it's a nuisance to carry but big and heavy enough to use as an effective torch and a security device if needed! Bright light, adjustable beam and the batteries seem to be lasting well. Highly recommended.

Can understand people being disappointed with the brightness of this torch, but I use it when patrolling the garden at night to clean up after the dogs so is fine for me.Only downside is the 5 huge batteries needed, which actually in the end turns out to be a plus side as it makes the torch feel sturdy and weighty. Perfect to keep down by my bedside in case I get burgled again to give the scumbags a taste of their own medicine...and I'm not talking about illuminating their path out the house...Great Maglite product as ever- just don't expect Close Encounters of the Third Kind though.

There are cheaper torches, there are brighter torches but this is a solid (literally!0, robust reliable go-to.

Ordered 4 Maglites. All four arrived with broken on/off switches. Poor quality, looks like they had sat on a shelf for a very long time! Very disappointed - Maglites used to be so good.

Maglite have always been known for the quality of their products. This here is another nice design. 2D cell torch has a file like surface on the handle allowing for good grip in wet conditions. The lens is made of a shatter resistant polymer. This torch has a push button switch which in my opinion is better than having a twist action on-and-off. It also has a feature whereby if you twist the head of the torch, you can focus the beam into a single spot. This is great for using like a spotlight illuminating objects far away. If you are buying this torch and feel that camouflage is an important factor for it's use, then you'll probably go for the black one. If camouflage isn't an important factor, then I'd go for a silver one. This is because if the silver one gets scratched, the scratch blends in with the torch and you can't notice it. If you go for a black torch and it gets scratched, then the silver scratch tends to stickout like a saw thumb.The weight of the unit is decent and feels solid. Would reccomend you buy a belt pouch separately. This is becuase whilst using it, I've sometimes had to put it down in order to free up both hands. On a few occasions, I've had to return to a location because I'd forgot to pick it back up again. A good all-round torch, but nothing spectacular. Ideal for general day to day use indoor or outdoor.

Es MagLite. Calidad. Todo correcto y funciona perfectamente. Es la mas grande de la gama con luz incandescente. Para iluminación de larga distancia en fotografía nocturna es ideal.

Tout a sûrement été dit sur la qualité exceptionnelle de cette lampe pratique, solide, esthétique et étanche. Des joints de caoutchouc assis au fond de chaque filetage assurent une étanchéité à toute épreuve, une solution qui permet peut-être de travailler dans des milieux où le matériel anti-détonnant est recommandé. En dehors de ces considérations, l'éclairage de cette torche est puissant et endurant et l'ampoule de secours nichée dans l'obturateur du logement de piles est tranquillisante. Un article très cher mais très efficace.
