5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent inspiration - written for enthusiasts not experts

G. · 9 June 2016

Excellent introductory / armchair read / coffee table book on bikepacking. Not aimed at the hardcore expert necessarily (in the same way that recipe books aren't aimed at professional chefs), but the routes should inspire new ideas even in those who who are experienced. The best thing (or worst thing for those who pref the trails to themselves) is that it should encourage people to get off the sofa watching microadventures on YouTube, and out into the hills overnight.Well written, well photographed, slightly skewed towards the SW, and with fewer than expected routes in Wales and Scotland; but excellent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well presented, engaging book

D. · 8 January 2019

This was purchased as a secret santa gift for a mountain biker friend. I took a sneaky look through before wrapping it and got quite caught up in it myself! There were lots of tips and tricks for people looking to go "wild camping" and the trails themselves were very well described with lots of descriptive elements and pictures to help you find your way. The recipient has expressed his intent to have a go!

5.0 out of 5 stars A great book for the new as well as experienced bike packer

S. · 6 March 2018

This book is a great little find. The rides are well explained/discussed and there's really good advice from the start to the end. The fact that you can download the gpx files for each ride is a real bonus as well. That makes it easy to extend the rides if you so wish. This book will definitely get you started with bike packing/touring and will keep you well supported for quite some time as you gain experience.
