"A comprehensive guide to doll-making. The best instructions for doing hair styles that I have seen."
"A very easy-to-follow and nicely illustrated book, there are lots of patterns for many different Steiner style dolls. There are patterns for clothes, carrycots, hair ideas, and saris, plus African dresses for African dolls. It's a really good book for picking out the bits you like to make, to make your own personal doll that would make a very special gift for a child. These are dolls to really fire the child"s imagination."---- Education Otherwise

5.0 out of 5 stars Detailed book

Lots of details on making traditional dolls, advice on materials, and sweet stories to inspire new dollmakers. You can make dolls suitable for small toddlers and older children, boys and girls, and there is thoughtful information provided for making dolls of various cultures and ethnicities. There aren't any photos of finished dolls in the book, but plenty of drawings. The patterns are hand-drawn (in my edition anyway) and need to be traced but I didn't mind this style. I most enjoy making the traditional limbed dolls and they can be done in a few evenings.I did eventually add facial features to my "Red Riding Hood" inspired doll, but she was gifted to her new owner before I got photos of that!
5.0 out of 5 stars All you need to know about making waldorf dolls
I have never done any sewing or made any dolls before, but when I saw a waldorf doll online I knew that I wanted to make one for my kids.I have just finished my full size doll and it looks great. I have started with a tiny baby and an angel doll to practice my sewing skill. This book has all the information to make any size and type waldorf doll. Instructions are detailed and well written. There are full size patterns for different sized dolls and all kinds of dolls clothes. The instructions for making doll's hair are the best ones you would find. There are some free instructions you can find online for making waldorf dolls, but none of them would compare to this book. As someone mentioned before there are no photographs in the book, but if you are interested in waldorf dolls there are more than plenty online.I will upload my doll's pictures to help you see what kind of doll you can make if you follow instructions. This book is worth every penny and is essential for any beginner waldorf doll maker.
4.0 out of 5 stars Make your own dolls
This book's got good, simple explanations with lost of different doll patterns, it's a shame that the book has poor illustrations in black and white, but with a little imagination the book is a good guide.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great book
The media could not be loaded. Great book! The fact that it has drawn pictures makes it easier to understand, it could with one or another picture but not sure it would help that much. The instructions are clear and have even started. Great gift and do recommend.
5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing!
Amazing book... so full of information. Honestly it’s the bible for making Waldorf dolls. It has plenty of patterns to keep you busy for both dolls and clothes alike, it has numerous techniques detailed throughout the book including numerous techniques for attaching hair and it has drawings throughout the book on each technique. Honestly the only things I don’t like are the fact the patterns go so close to the inner spine you ll have to fold the book open to trace them and there are also no pictures of finished dolls. But still well worth the investment!
5.0 out of 5 stars A lovely, charming, well written, well illustrated book.
This is a lovely, well written, well illustrated and extremely detailed book.It takes you step by step through the process to enable the reader to make a varietyof different dolls, begining with extremely simple designs and progressing to the morecomplex, still relatively easy to make though. Super also, as it has the actual size patternsthat just need to be traced and you can begin. Chapter 2, which is all about hair and how to dothe different types, with really clear line drawings of lots of different styles/ types of hair.Someone has commented on another review that there are no photographs inside the bookbut the line drawings with the very clear instructions, actually make, in my opinion a betterformat for showing clearly and exactly 'how to'.All in all I am delighted with my purchase.
5.0 out of 5 stars I LOVE this book!!
I've had this almost a year and have made sooo much out of it! I've made 12" dolls, tiny dolls, and loads in between. I've also made clothes and am currently making some more. This book is totally worth the money. The patterns are pretty simple and easy. Whenever it's a little girl's birthday I make one of the little dolls in here out of un-needed baby clothes. I love it! If you have little girls, you need to make them all these dolls!

Enjoyed this book. Mainly bought for how to put hair on rag dolls, but very good information in the rest of the book as well.
Cartamodelli in dimensione reale
Libro meraviglioso, completo di cartamodelli in dimensione reale.È in lingua inglese ma le illustrazioni lo rendono fruibile anche senza conoscere la lingua inglese. Consigliatissimo.
Very nice book
Excellent guide for Waldorf Dolls, fitting patterns. I have already made a lot of angels as a baby-birth-gift for my family and friends.
en ingles...
la pena de este libro es que esté en inglés y haya tan poco en español sobre el tema. Pero está bastante completo
