I really enjoyed this book and if I knew what it was going to be I would have given it 5 stars. It say the greatest ever boxing WORKOUTS, however it is actually biographies of some of the greatest boxers, followed by a few lines on a page of their typical days, and an example of their workouts. This is a great book to own as a boxing fan or a boxing historian (up to 2010), but if you are looking for training tips or techniques (this book contains no technique tips or combinations to drill) it is completely the wrong book.Less than a third of the pages and in this book are about the boxers workouts and because of the spacing and question answer format e.g. what time do you go wake up? How far do you run? Then a breakdown of a typical work out, it is on at the end of the book, Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr, does the book go into more detail than simply saying 10 round of sparing, or so many rounds on different bags or shadow boxing.I would have really felt cheated but the biographies are well written and informative. As biographies often are they are based on the writer's opinion of the boxers. He does give good summary of each boxer's career. The book is written in a magazine article format (which is what the writer actually is a magazine writer) with 2 columns per page. A picture of the boxer thrown in depending on their significance a small picture, or a page or in a couple of cases a double page. I would not have been surprised if the writer created a scrap book of his old articles and decided to publish them. An enjoyable book but it is not a training manual.

Great workouts to prevent overtraining in one discipline , so your body gets a high but physiologicalbalanced push , which is the most important strategy to avoid injuries by to hard training, which in itself is the most spread reason for longterm tendon and capsule lesions.

This is the second book i have read from this author. Although the first seemed more in depth i have found this book to be equally as interesting as the first.Great insights into championship boxers to how they eat and live with some interesting information to the fighters themselves as people.I highly recommend any boxing fans or fitness enthusiasts to get and read this book for some inspiration or just out of curiosity.

So many great training information in such a small book!
I have been a life long Boxing fan whom also trains very regularly (4-6x/week) and when I saw the names of the world champions that have been interviewed in this book I had to quickly grab a copy! and once I started flipping through the pages it did not disappoint, there are so much detailed training gems that one could incorporate into their own from roadwork, sprinting, plyometrics, how many rounds to do in a heavy bag, speed bag, double end bag, shadow boxing, jumping rope, how many rounds of sparring to log in when training for a bout and the list goes on! you can either copy a Boxers training regime that you think would fit you or you can take a specific workout from each Boxer in the book and build your own regiment, all in all you know what you're replicating is legitimate because the pros told you that they've done it and continues to do it and If you're a person who gets bored easily by doing the same things over and over again Boxing might not be for you but if you take pride in the repetitive grind within Boxing training then you'll find plenty of value in this book. And also I think it is kind of cool to see insight within a high caliber pro's training and knowing that their training doesn't really differ much from one another and gives you motivation because you know that when you walk in the gym the champions and other pro's are doing the same type of work you're doing the only difference is the hours they have dedicated to reach the level they're at.

...sollte sich dieses Buch holen. Habe lange im Internet nach Quellen gesucht, aus denen hervorgeht, wie und mit welchem Umfang die meisten Profiboxer trainieren. Dieses Buch ist eine tolle Fundgrube für Trainingspläne (naja sagen wir grob umrissene Trainingspläne). Eine große Auswahl an aktiven und ehemaligen Boxprofis wird kurz vorgestellt und interviewed bezpüglich ihrer Trainingsmethoden & Ernährung (wieviele Einheiten pro Woche, wieviel Runden Boxsack/Sparring/Schattenboxen/etc, wie oft Lauftraining/Athletik/Krafttraining).Auf Bolo gibt es eine Voransicht von dem Buch, die den Inhalt ziemlich gut wiedergibt.Aber: Hier werden Trainingsabläufe nur grob skizziert - dieses Buch ist keine Anleitung für ein Boxtraining !
