I bought an Indian curry book called Monsoon which was poor and had a lot of side dishes and other bits and few mains. This book however had lots of delicious looking main course curry dishes. It's split into sections on ingredients which is helpful, chicken, fish , lamb, veg & accompaniments. No puddings. It has some background info at the start which I found interesting and useful, particularly on how to cook onions which is so important in authentic Indian cooking. Mostly you get the recipe with the picture on the opposite page which is great. I don't want to have to try and find a picture or realise there's no picture at all. I have not tried the dishes yet so I will come back and add to this review later. So far I can highly recommend this book, it was just the kind of curry recipe book I was looking for.

This is a fantastic cookery book for Indian food - the recipes, if you follow the author's instructions (which are detailed, but easy to follow), come out tasting truly like the authentic home cooked flavour you get in Indian homes, not some sort of Westernised hybrid dish.There's probably about a dozen or so spices that you need to make the recipes - living in a city like Manchester I can get these fairly easily from an Indian supermarket. Your local Tescos is unlikely to have them though; but don't omit anything, it's essential to the flavour (e.g. the pinch of asotehida in many of these recipes adds so much flavour!). Of all else fails, you can order them online.If you're going to own only one Indian cookery book, this is the one to have!

Simple, easy and delicious recipes. Special mention to the images - they look so good they make me hungry whilst I'm cooking!
