About the Author
Fiona Watt is an Editorial Director and writer at Usborne Publishing. She graduated from Exeter University with a Bachelor of Education in Art and Design. She taught for three years at a primary school in Kent, before spending two years at a British school in The Netherlands. She started working at Usborne in 1989 and has written and edited hundreds of books including baby and novelty, sticker, art and craft, cookery, science and activity books. She has written all the titles in the award-winning THAT'S NOT MY® series and many in the highly successful Sticker Dolly Dressing series. She is the sixth biggest-selling UK children's author, with over 10 million of her books sold in the UK since records began.

picked up That’s Not My Dog… for my 8-month-old, and it’s become an instant favorite in our house! The bold, high-contrast illustrations catch her attention right away, and the touch-and-feel textures on each page keep her little hands busy and curious.Even though she’s too young to follow the story, she lights up every time I turn the page and say, “That’s not my dog…” in a silly voice. The repetitive text is great for early language exposure, and the sturdy pages are perfect for baby handling (and chewing!).Perfect for: Tummy time, bedtime routines, or any quiet cuddle moment.Final thoughts: A fun, sensory-friendly first book that’s simple, engaging, and built to last.

I purchased for my 1 year old baby, who is really starting to show an interest in reading. She's particularly fond of the 'That's not my...' series, and the sensory elements, especially the textured surfaces, really capture her attention.The books in this range have wonderfully thick pages that are easy for little hands to turn. Plus, the clear and bold colors and print are very engaging. It's been a delightful addition to her book corner.

My daughter absolutely LOVED these books; even now she will flick through the pages but she has really outgrown them, I’d say they are good up to about 15 months - toddler dependant. I actually purchased this one to put in a baby hamper as they’ve been such a hit in our house and have lasted really well considering how much use/throwing/slobber has gone at them! Recommend.

As first-time parents, we’re always on the lookout for books that’ll keep our little one engaged—especially now that she’s showing so much interest in reading, even before hitting six months! She loves grabbing at pages, so we thought this touch-and-feel book would be a great addition to her collection.👍 What we liked:The big, bold pictures are brilliant—really easy for little eyes to focus on, and perfect for reading time with younger babies.It’s a nice sturdy board book, so it holds up well even with a bit of enthusiastic grabbing and chewing!👎 What could be better:The edges of the pages feel a bit sharp, which was a surprise considering it’s made for babies to touch and feel. Not dangerous, just not as smooth as you'd expect.The touchy-feely bits are a bit underwhelming. For example, the “rough nose” or “shiny tag” bits are quite small—you have to guide their little fingers to find them. Would’ve been nice if those textures were a bit bigger or more obvious, especially for tiny hands still learning.💬 Final thoughts:It’s not a bad book by any means—our baby does enjoy looking at the pictures—but I did expect a bit more for the price. The idea is lovely, but the touchy-feely bits could definitely be improved to make it more engaging. Might still get others in the series, but hoping for better value next time.
