I really enjoy this new take on Superman. I like the angry youth Superman. he actually got a Batman Dark Knight vibe to him. Awesome artwork and a great story.Kryptonian society is divided between the elite engineers and scientists, versus the farmers and those that refuse to go along with the message they are putting out. The Els dispute their brilliance refuse to follow their message.Now on Earth young man appears to help the poor and downtrodden communities. However, his presence and actions have been noticed by the Lazarus Corporation which "owns" everything and everyone. What happens when they find someone they can't control or worse make him angry? Also what if one of their own agents starts to question what they are told?I like the parallel to the real world of the over-reliance on AI and algorithms to find information as well as leaders trying to control the narrative. This is a great incarnation of Superman I can't wait for the next book. The book finishes with a thumbnail variant cover gallery and a sketchbook with character designs.

Good update of the superman story he comes from a poor family on krypton but his dad is a mine engineer who discovers krypton is doomed and with his wife builds a rocket and a suit and sends his son to earth to help humanity and kal el has a sense of real social justice as he came from a world held back by ignorance and fear he fights for the oppressed and at no point in this good story arc does his dad tell him to put it about a bit and rule earth unlike that dumb bit in the film the version of brainiac in later books in this arc is absolute nightmare fuel good art too if you like the new batman give this a try too

Fun reimagining of the story. It’s like an elseworld tale and I liked how they used the Peacekeepers in a soldiers way. Not sure about the AI cape yet, but it makes him different. Will keep reading.

The launch of the Absolute universe has been an amazing success thus far in my opinion, and this new take on Superman & his origin serves as a fantastic opening act. The artwork is consistently superb, the origin is well-told, jumping back and forth between Krypton and the present, and the dialogue is top-notch. Whether you're a fan of Superman or not, I highly recommend giving this iteration a try!

Não tá no mesmo nível da Mulher-Maravilha, mas ainda é bem divertido. A apresentação da Terra sob domínio da Lazarus, simultânea à da própria Krypton e seu sistema de castas, incrível. Adorei os El e a Lois. Fiquei muito curioso com a identidade da Primus e o que vai ser do Chris Smith

Excellent revisioning of the story of Kal-el, Krypton’s end and a twist to his powers. Love his angle re: how he helps on Earth. Good story!
