The fanbase for the show is filled with people who want to know more. And thank goodness this book delivers in buckets.From learning what the Chinese cusswords really mean, to understanding the concept of Whedon's 'verse, you'll discover everything you want to know about the show is in alphabetical order, making it really easy to find out at a glance.There's some character bios too and an introduction on the languages used by everyone in the 'verse, no matter if they live on the Rim or the Core.A book I won't be lending to anyway as it's too precious. Shiny!

This book completely shattered my expectations and then some. This book acts as a complete guide to the Firefly universe as the book is alphabetically set out with every bit of trivia about the universe.The book covers the language used in the series as well as providing in depth descriptions of planets and their respective system, episode appeared in and also brief history notes on some.Technology is listed and explained as well as faction history and point of origin. The 'verse is simplified into systems and location in the galaxy with their own repective planets.Important historical events are covered in depth as well as ships and uniforms of the Anglo-Sino Aliance.I cannot recommend this book enough. Buy it now. What are you waiting for?

After getting the companion book, I've had my eye on this one for a while and finally decided to buy it. I'm glad I did as it's a great addition to any Firefly collection. The hard cover and raised/embossed design feels really well made. The book explores the language used in the series and has some additional pages dedicated to bios on the main characters. While you wouldn't be missing a great deal by not buying this, any true Firefly fan would be happy to receive it.

This book certainly is The Gorramn Shiniest Dictionary and Phrasebook in the 'Verse if you're looking for a simple and small book to help you understand the Firefly 'Verse. The wealth of information provided is concise yet expansive if you wish to learn more about the show. And the detailed blueprints of Serenity on page 41 are one of the many hidden gems this book has to offer.Well worth the price...
