It is probably my own fault for not reading the description well enough, but I had thought that this guide was going to be much more than it is. I am new to the Canon EOS 5 and the Guide was helpful the first couple of times I picked it up (identifying buttons etc.) but after that it very quickly became redundant. Having paid a considerable amount for a new camera, the cost of this book is almost incidental and if you approach it on the basis that it will get you over the initial hump of which button does what, then it will be worthwhile; beyond that it adds very little.

Great small format flip-page guide for in-field reference
This series of small pocket guides are great for on location quick lookups of topics that may arise needing some memory jogger or clarification. I have several of them, one each for every camera they cover that I own. The small size and strong solid covers keep the guide in a nice flat shape while the standard thickness pages are easy to flip thru on the spiral metal binding. Each section is tabbed and numbered for easy location. The information provided isn’t an in-depth coverage but rather a quick synopsis of the topic at hand. If more details are required, I just pull out my iPhone and connect to my home server to pull up the full users manual on the camera in use.
