Whilst I appreciate a lot of things about this book, it was simply not what I wanted. It does make extensive use of inbuilt machine stitches, something that is often under utilized, and the resulting quilts are very attractive, beautifully coloured and full of life. However, for me, the book was too much about a particular quilting technique, the artists, as a lot of quilting books tend to be about, and not very creative in the sense of encouraging readers in their own style of creative applique work. If you are looking for an applique book that teaches a paticular technique and you want to be led through a project from start to finish to make work like the authors, this is a book for you. If you want to develop your own ideas in applique to use in quilting or textile work, this is probably going to be too restrictive and reliant on one technique; but it does have many fine points about for the right person, sadly that is not me.

A beautiful book and very instructive
I bought this because I have a new sewing machine that I felt was capable of doing this type of project, and I’m so glad I chose this book. There are tons of beautiful photos and illustration for the processes. It’s well written, and it will definitely make you want to start a new project!
