Helpful for planning my trip

Exactly what I was looking for.

Still Tops But Restaurant Recommendations are Thin

I bought this latest edition for an upcoming trip, replacing the copy I bought for my prior trip to Arizona pre-Covid. In Tuscon in particular, that earlier edition led me to a week's worth of dining discoveries from old mainstays to unexpected finds to an obscure roadside stand, all fantastic. The restaurant listings are now sparse I can only guess the author assumes travelers are consulting TripAdvisor and Yelp for dining reviews. The writing balances brevity and clarity with excitement and description, and the photos are lovely. But guidebooks are not keeping up with the bigger travel phenomenon post-Covid: not closures, but the overwhelming inundation of popular sites and attractions with demand exceeding capacity. It's a recurring conversation among my fellow frequent travelers that the days are long gone when you could walk into any restaurant to find a table for dinner, or safely assume that six months out is adequate for making lodging reservations. The front sections need to highlight the accommodations that sell-out the day they open for reservations a year in advance (such as the most desirable lodge accommodations at the Grand Canyon), the restaurants that require reservations weeks or months out, and the highway and entrance logjams. This is happening everywhere and there are strategies for each destination but it's vital to get the information to plan around this up front, to incorporate into the very earliest planning for any trip.

Awesome travel guide! Especially when no survive to google!

I ordered this travel book for our Arizona Grand Canyon Sedona trip and Flagstaff. This book helped us tremendously. This book is incredible and totally worth the price. We would’ve been lost without this book. Sometimes we had no service to Google anything and this book saved us. It showed us restaurants, hiking trails Other places to go around Arizona. We found the Montezuma Castle because of this book. This book is a musket if you’re going to Arizona.

Excellent pocket guide!

Love this little book, with short blurbs on Arizona points of interest with the Grand Canyon added for good measure.
