About the Author
Rob Goffee is Emeritus Professor of Organisational Behaviour at London Business School. Where he teachers in the world-renowned Senior Executive Programme. Gareth Jones is a Fellow of the Centre for Management Development at London Business School and a visiting professor at Spain's IE Business School in Madrid. Goffee and Jones consult to the boards of several global companies and are coauthors of Why Should Anyone Work Here? and Clever, both published by Harvard Business Review Press.

Very useful insight for a developing person. The book takes you on a journey to guide you on an easier route of leadership.

I got a lot out of reading this. The premise - Why should anyone be led by you? - is an important one to ask. People are crying out for leadership practices that are fit for purpose in a world that is fractured and ambiguous, and the conversations about being non-hierarchical and relational really resonated.However I do think Goffee and Jones suggest that the qualities and examples they cover define leadership itself...whereas I believe what they are defining is 'good' leadership and it would have been great to see that more clearly articulated throughout.In spite of this, Why Should Anyone be Led by You is a thought provoking read that goes back on my bookshelf for future reference. 4 stars.

I was lost reading this book. There are numerous examples of great and not so great leaders but I felt that the authors missed the point. It is a good read to expand your knowledge horizon but if you are looking for leadership guidance,look elsewhere

I found this book to be an enjoyable and informational read. The breakdown of management was relatable while putting into words what many people aren’t able to. Perspective from those being led heavy throughout. Those being led weren’t left out either. The last few chapters hit their roll in leadership well. Leaders are only as good as those they are leading.
