Bought a few of these behavioural books. They work brilliantly as a distraction because the toddler immediately stops the behaviour and wants to read the story (look at the pictures) and takes part in the activities suggested. The whole family reads them including the siblings and grandparents in that way we are all doing the same thing and providing consistency in dealing with the behaviour. As we reach for the book little grandson knows what he needs to do.

Great for kids from age 22 months. Highly recommend!My kid is able to practise breathing techniques (which he enjoys doing during story time). Furthermore, it’s a lovely hardback book which stands lovely on his book shelf.There are good parental tips too at the back of the book. Worth the purchase.

I bought this for my 19 month old who has started having tantrums sometimes. He's too young to understand it properly yet, but the tips at the back for parents are useful and he enjoys flicking through it looking at the pictures. As he gets a bit older I feel that the idea of doing a breathing exercise to calm down should be simple to understand, as well as the idea of talking about a problem or asking for a hug. Overall I'm pleased with this book and I think it will be a really helpful tool for my toddler in the future.

The media could not be loaded. This is a nice book that's simple to read for smaller kids. It's small in size it can easily fit in a back if you go somewhere and it's hardcover so little kids can read it and not rip it. There are a lot more books in this collection I got a few for my 4 year old

This book has really helped my 3 year old boy. He used to hit me when he got frustrated but now he thinks and calms himself down and doesn’t hit anymore. This book is great. The pictures are great for toddlers and we practice the calm breathing together.

Great book to encourage discussion around feelings and how to calm down. The words are easy for a toddler to understand, however the illustrations aren’t great and don’t really engage my son.

I work with young autistic children who often find it difficult to calm down once they are angry, distressed or upset. We read this book each day and remind them of the strategies the book contains. The simplicity of the book supports the childrens understanding.

This book has been sooo helpful for my toddler to calm down! A life saver!
This book has been great for my toddler (three year old) to recognize their feelings and also come up with a solution on how to deal with them. She literally has tried the different examples in the book on how to soothe and calm herself especially the little mantra "1, 2, 3, I'm taking care of me" and she takes a deep breathe afterwards. I would highly recommend this book for parents of kids who are having trouble with their big feelings. She now feels safe to tell me when she is made or upset or sad and I'm able to acknowledge those feelings making her feel understood. This book has been such a life saver for me as a first time mom!
