I absolutely love this book. Full of brilliant and exciting ideas, I was finding (and my students) retrievals to become monotonous and samey. Until this landed on my doormat, full of page tabs for favourites now, and well used, it is as Important to me as my planner! I thought someone had taken it a few weeks ago and I was far from happy. Useful for PGCE, SCITT, and established classroom practitioners. It's a steal. I've also ordered another or Rob Plevins books but am yet to read that, I'm sure a glowing report will follow for that one too!

This book was recommended to me (actually, the recommendation had been for anything by Rob Plevin). It contains some great ideas for starters and plenaries - some I was already familiar with, but lots that are new or give ideas on how they can be adapted. It is handy to have so many ideas all in one place. The book also contains links for additional, on-line resources and I highly recommend it.

I really enjoyed reading the ideas in this book. The ideas are really practical and easy to use and will definitely expand my existing repertoire. Each idea is easily adaptable to pretty much any lesson and I'm looking forward to trying many of them out. The book is really easy to read and I enjoyed the sense humour it is written with. These sorts books can often feel quite patronising or unrealistic but this is neither. I am also impressed with the generous number of freebies I can now access! Thank you!

I have only recently bought this book but have already used it to good effect in my lessons. It is full of easy and accessible ideas to get lessons off to a flying start.There is a wealth of free online resources to go alongside. I am particularly enjoying the video tutorials as well.

I bought the first book in this series and was delighted with the simplicity and practical nature of the strategies and ideas presented.This one is equally practical but is also filled with really engaging, fun activities. I’ve bought collections of starters and lesson activities in the pastbut have been disappointed because a large percentage of the contents tend to be ‘fillers’. Not so with this one –I love all these ideas and I knowmy students will too.

Beneficial for a Wide Variety of Teachers
I first discovered Rob Plevin's work on YouTube. His approach to classroom management intrigued me and I wanted to learn more.This book is useful for all classrooms. The suggestions are numerous and varied. Though many work best for students who are already writing, there are relevant ideas for early primary as well. Though insisted upon in education training, many teachers in the classroom forget the importance of lesson introduction as well as lesson conclusion. Mr. Plevin reminds us of that while providing a variety of ways to introduce a lesson as well as close a lesson.Whether you are looking to improve classroom management or simply add ideas to your 'toolbox', this book will benefit teachers from primary to post secondary who want to engage students meaningfully and in a variety of ways.
Mostly for kids around 12 to 14
