My daughter absolutely loves this book. The story is fun and engaging, and the illustrations are brilliant. We’ve read it so many times already. It’s definitely become a bedtime favourite. We love how all the pages are hard back so she can not rip any of them out!

The Gruffalo gehört bei uns inzwischen zur festen Vorleseroutine – meine 4-jährige Tochter liebt die spannende, gereimte Geschichte und kann viele Passagen schon auswendig mitsprechen.Die Sprache ist melodisch und rhythmisch, ideal für Kinder, die Englisch lernen oder zweisprachig aufwachsen. Besonders gut gefällt mir, wie spielerisch neue Wörter eingeführt werden. Die Geschichte selbst ist originell, leicht spannend, aber immer kindgerecht – und mit einem cleveren, starken kleinen Helden.Die Illustrationen von Axel Scheffler sind – wie immer – ein Traum: lebendig, ausdrucksstark und voller liebevoller Details. Ein echter Vorlesespaß für Kinder und Erwachsene.Absolut empfehlenswert – 5 Sterne!

Fun and exciting page turner
Great kids story book. It has everything in it to keep the little ones entertained and engaged.
My 19 month old says, "I LOVE this book!"
We came across this book in a park. It had been left by someone as a "Travelling Book", so we took it home to check it out. I read it to my daughter (19 months at the time) and she fell in love with it. She carried it around, flipping through the pages with excitement and "reading" it to us over and over. I explained that the book wasn't for keeping and that we would have to share it with someone else soon. She held it to her heart and shouted, "I LOVE this book!" with deep sincerity. Sooooo, I tracked one down online and bought it through Bolo. It's been months since we first found the book and she still loves it. She still "reads" it daily and gives it a kiss before putting it aside.As a parent, I think this is a great book. I love the art style and actually got a sense of nostalgia as some of the forest images brought back childhood memories of time spent in the Northern woods where I grew up. Also, it was a joy to find that the writing flows beautifully. Some rhyming books seem forced in places and you know the author struggled. This book has a natural flow and rhythm that is a delight to read aloud over and over and over ...
