1.0 out of 5 stars This book is not useful

k. · 15 April 2021

This book shows you how to do things individually. Say if you will use it then do this. But practically is of no use. I bought a video course and it was much better for half the price. So say you want to create an interactive report well your not shown how. Create a step by step dashboard or app your not shown how. Your only shown how to insert individual visuals which you can learn using free reasources.

this book is really great

I like the book a lot. it is an awesome book

Good book but hard to see screenshots! Not for DAX learning only power bi desktop!

G.R. · 4 March 2021

After I’ve completed the book, i can say that it’s everything about Power Query, data modelling and Visualizations! You won’t find explanations on DAX even there’s a few DAX examples. That’s normal. You should buy another book on DAX to complete this one.The content of the book is great except the images are hardly visible. It’s a pain to read and examine most illustrative pictures! The book explains deeply Power Query, even a chapter is dedicated to the M language. Detailed instructions on every main data source connection are included. The use of several visualizations is explained thoroughly too.If you want to master every aspect of power bi desktop, that’s the book for you!To the author (Adam Aspin), please update the illustrations to make them more visible. Thanks in advance.

Very handy. It's a complete book.

Great source!!! Missing Sample file though

J.L. · 6 July 2020

Very well written and easy to follow. I did run into a missing file in the samples the authors available for download. There is a file named CarSalesForPowerBI.xlsx that is part of the exercises, and that file is not in the zip file that is available for download. I have attached a copy of the Kindle page that refers to the file. When I emailed the publisher with a detailed explanation, along with a picture of the page that refers to the missing file, I received a response that read as if they couldn't understand what I was trying to explain. My review would have been 5 stars if the missing file hadn't been an issue.
