5.0 out of 5 stars A bible for businesses wrestling with digital transformation
Building the Agile Business Through Digital Transformation is a superb guide for organizations of all shapes and sizes aiming to succeed in an increasingly digital world. It is relevant for anyone interested in how digital technology is fundamentally changing business sectors and business functions, whether they are working client-side, or for agencies and consultancies. I particularly like the way the book has a great balance of academic rigour and 'actionable' strategic frameworks and tips. The authors draw on a huge range of reference points, helpfully summarising where we've got to with a distillation of fascinating insights from leading authors and bloggers in a range of business-related fields. While they have done a great job in curating a wealth of sources, the value comes from the authors' own industry experience and the contributors who are working at the coal-face for a wide variety of organizations. Their 'stories from the front line' and case studies lift the book from the realms of the theoretical very much into the practical arena. The models and frameworks in the book should ensure this becomes an invaluable manual for businesses that are wrestling with digital transformation.
5.0 out of 5 stars A great tool for educating senior stakeholders who are yet to grasp what is needed to transition to an agile organisation
Lots of people talk about being agile, as if it is a methodology, without really understanding that it is more about cultural change. This book has a good mix of academic and practical examples of what it takes. A lot of thinking can be found in blog posts but this book pulls it together in one place which makes it easier to refer to and share.Executives in the corporate world like the concept of agile and are all for people going on scrum master courses and putting up a few kanban boards on the walls. However they don't get that there needs to be a shift in the approach to governance, a shift in mindset from outputs to outcomes or the realisation that to hire the right people for agile you need a different approach to recruitment. Maybe if they read this book those messages might start to sink in

First part of the book is a bit slow but once it gets out of the background and context, the rest of the book is full of practical examples, frameworks, templates and references. Really nice book which I will likely read again soon to continue to refresh my working practices
3.0 out of 5 stars Probably meant for people who like to use lots of business lingo
Way too much insider lingo/jargon! Every so often the author clarifies and you think ah, now I get it! Sentence structure also often feels ‘off’ so you’re left re-reading bits over and over just to try and follow along. It is good when you ‘get it’ but requiring too much effort so far.
5.0 out of 5 stars Walking the talk in book form
There are a lot of books written about 'digital transformation' yet none of them have nailed what it is - and more importantly, how to actually make it happen - as well as this book. It's chock full of practical advice, as well as models and techniques to use to bring about real change in organisations big and small. I don't think there's a page within this book that isn't insightful and anyone - whether a newbie to the subject, or an old hand at transforming organisations - will learn something from reading this.
5.0 out of 5 stars I highly recommend it.
I've spent the last month dipping in and out of this book, which is exactly what I want from a book I can use for our agency work. It's detailed and thorough in the way it explores models for change management but the case studies and stories from contributors brings it to life, makes it accessible and gives ways we can apply it on a practical level. Others in our team are now reading it, I highly recommend it.

I was recommended this book by one of the most effective CEO's I have ever worked with and it was worth every cent. It is incredibly practical and I recommend you read it with a pencil and post its. I read it once in full but find it has followed me to work every day as an accompaniment to my notebook. It is filled with tools and thoughts that you can use over and over again. A 5-star recommendation for anyone looking to make real impact in their organisation.
3.0 out of 5 stars Lacking in the digital transformation area
This is a good book. When I bought it there were 18 reviews all of them 5 out of 5 stars; hard to go wrong. It covers lean, agile, team work, strategy, culture and other management subject areas that are relevant for today, all with detailed references. However, what it doesn't cover in any satisfactory depth in my opinion is digital transformation. There is value here, I highlighted numerous areas of text that I will go back to and reread, but having read widely in the management area I know there are many very good books out there that focus on the subjects covered here in a more detailed fashion and would be of more use to readers. Stripping these topics out, what I was seeking was an insight into digital transformation which I couldn't find.
Genial
Facil de leer, ameno y repleto de ejemplos aplicables.Tendré que comprar otro ejemplar porque este está repleto de anotaciones, post-it's, subrayados... ;)

Good read
A bit repetitive but overall a great read.
