I’m a former English teacher and would highly recommend this revision guide. Although it is published as a guide to the AQA GCSE, the content and techniques it uses would be helpful for any syllabus. It covers plot, themes and character. There are short questions to check comprehension and recall, sample questions and sample answers and you get access to other materials via the QR codes included. At £11, this is cheaper and arguably more structured than employing a private tutor and you could use it to support your child (if they will let you) or it could be used to suppport them studying with a friend. You may just need to explain that they need to open it and work through it - revision doesn’t work by osmosis! Macbeth always seems to be on the syllabus so if you have more than one child, you’ll probably be able to use it again!!!

My daughter has been using this to support her revision of Macbeth for her English Lit GCSE. The book contains details sections on the plot, characters and themes. Each section provides knowledge, a self test (with answers given which you can cover over) and lots of guidance for longer answers. There are also example exam questions with sample answers and examiner feedback to indicate what's good and not so good in the responses.My daughter has found this last point particularly useful

This is a good book with lots of activities. It covers all key areas. There are many ideas, tips, sample questions and answers. There is also QR codes for extra information. It has proved very useful for my nephew who has GCSEs next year.

My daughter is sitting her exams this year and is studying Macbeth, this is great for revising and has practice tests, she seems happy so hopefully it helps with her English exam

As a parent, the hardest part of getting my child to revise is knowing that they have enough resources on hand to succeed. I'm very satisfied that this GCSE guide for Macbeth provides everything all in one place. It's specifically designed for the AQA exams and the exam style questions and knowledge retrieval sections are excellent. It shouldn't be underestimated that marking is an important part of the revision experience as that's the feedback that shows you what you need to improve and how to do it. The exam-style questions at the back of the guide have answer guides (online, pdf available via QR code) that are simple to understand and full sample essays for many of them to see exactly how you could put your knowledge into a good quality answer. Recommended.
