What a brilliant book, what a fantastic lady!I’m based in the UK and tbh we don’t have a lot of information regarding other ways of doing Keto it’s basically either Strict Keto way or the highway with the exception of a couple of people, UK based Monya Kilian Palmer has excellent books outI stumbled across Stephanie on YouTube and was completely hooked. I’ve been trying Keto on and off for about 20 years. Starting with Atkins, did that for about 6 months but at that time, it was so hard to find any other information with the internet being in its infancy (was there really a time without Google, YouTube, Pinterest or Bolo? Hard to imagine). Counting Macros, points, syns really is not my thing. Cut a long story short (you’ll be pleased to hear). I tried again in 2020/2021 but didn’t see anything from Stephanie. Anyway, I bumped into an old friend and she had lost shed loads of weight and looked fantastic. Obviously asked how she’d done it and she said Keto but she wasn’t counting macros etc. This piqued my interest, hence when I found Stephanie.I got her other books and obviously, the recipes and food/supermarkets are based in the USA so if there is an ingredient I can’t get or is extortionate I either leave it alone or think about what we can get in UK.She is 100% right that there are a lot of things out there that claim to be “Keto” but actually are just a money-making scam.When I’ve tried Keto in the past, I’ve found that if I have Diet Coke or anything with sweetener in it sets off cravings so have decided to leave them alone. Also, pre-Keto, I noticed I was having problems if I ate bread (we’ll leave it there) so have also decided not to have a substitute i.e., anything made with almond flour as actually, I don’t like it. Just a quick anecdote, I’ve been thinking of changing what I eat for a while and around the same time visited my Auntie. We were discussing food as she has been Coeliac for 45 years and what she can’t have and what she can, this got me thinking, my Auntie is 90 years old and for all those years she’s lived without anything with flour/gluten in it as obviously it makes her ill and she was so slim and healthy (for a 90-year-old). So, I thought, foods that we as a western society take for granted and are encouraged to eat are not necessary. That made me realise that if I get it into my psyche that actually these foods will make me “ill” (as bread actually does) it makes sense to leave them out of my diet. And I haven’t had one “flare” up since I gave them up. BTW I was tested for Coeliac disease years ago and it came back negative so guess I’m just intolerant to it.The Keto lifestyle is pretty good for me as I cannot stand anything “low fat/low calorie” so actually it’s full of my favourite things. Another thing, how can I eat a carb heavy meal and then be hungry half an hour later? Doesn't make sense until you read/listen to StephanieSo to sum up. This book should be the bible for anyone wanting to start Keto either as a diet or embarking on a new lifestyle. It is absolutely excellent (sorry Stephanie, I broke the rules and read it in 2 days, it really is so good). Thank you Stephanie, you are amazing.
Great for beginners and veterans
I bought Stephanie’s first book in June 2022 and found that DLK was the easiest diet I have ever tried. I lost 40 lbs with minimal effort and zero cravings! Ordered Extra Easy Keto in March, so excited when it arrived in mid-May.The format of the book was perfect. Setting up the chapters as days of the week was a great idea. Having recaps and ‘homework’ at the end of the day was genius. I read one chapter per day and let it sink in. Even though I had been following DLK for 11 months, there was still more to learn.Stephanie added so many tables that make it easy to understand the material. High protein low carb foods, Copycat suggestions, and workarounds. My favorite was The Big Three in the meal planning chapter. So helpful when I don’t know what I want to eat. I take pictures of cheatsheets to have with me all the time. This book also contains more recipes and meal ideas with carb counts.I now have 4 of Stephanie’s books that sit on my kitchen counter….when I am not reading them.

The “Skinny” on Keto!
This book is so fantastic! I’ve been following Stephanie’s method of DLK for some time now and trust me it works! This book is a MUST if you are just getting started on Keto or even just thinking about it… OR for someone like me, simply a fabulous refresher!!
WOWSERS!
This book is enlightening and helpful for new and oldies in the process of trying to lose weight, get healthy, or reduce symptoms of inflammation. It has an abundant amount of information and I am only half way through! I have charts showing me net carbs for foods we normally eat. There is no special crap to buy to get into this. I have PCOS, GAD(generalized anxiety disorder), diabeties type 2, and depression.Steph knows how to motivate, encourage and keep things on a casual level that is NOT overwhelming! I can't say enough about her books. She has extrodinary support group on facebook and never makes you feel like your alone. She gives shopping list as well. You learn in this process there is no cookie cutter way! "YOU DO YOU!" is a very much something she goes by and we cling to in DLK ( Dirty, Lazy Keto). One of my favorite things she has said in her first book when i found her was "Plan to fail." Which means have a plan in place on those hard days because life happens and to think you won't have one is lying to yourself!In this book she helps with meal planning, fashioning a routine, and how to see through the keto labels at the store...and teaches you how to read labels.READ THIS BOOK if you want to lose weight, create a new lifestyle for yourself, and become healthier mentally, physically and emotionally.Thank you Stephanie for all you do for us and the support you give freely. You rock. Flip that hair back for me and stand tall girl cause you are a wonderful inspiration to us all and never let anyone tell you different!
“Extra Easy” good read!
I’ve been a fan of Stephanie’s Dirty Lazy Keto lifestyle for 2-1/2 years. It has totally improved my husband’s and my life. I’ve lost 60 lbs and he’s lost over 100 lbs! He is no longer a type 2 diabetic!! His A1C has gone from 8+ to just 5.7! No more insulin, no more pills. 😃. His doctor is amazed and showing Stephanie’s books to his patients.We’ve been on maintenance for about 6 months now.Her new book is pure Stephanie - clear, concise and entertaining. I love all her cookbooks and have my favorite recipes marked.Her new “Extra Easy Keto”book has given me a fresh perspective — and revealed several areas that I needed to revisit and realign. Although I’ve been on maintenance I’ve noticed a few pounds sneaking in. This new book opened my eyes to some potential areas needing immediate improvement.This is a great book for anyone wanting to start a low carb lifestyle or needing to reboot.I love how she starts off telling you to “curl up on the couch” and read. Most self-help books crack a whip and make demands. Not Stephanie! She is very REAL, very relatable and so bubbly. She is your greatest cheerleader now and for your whole journey! Perfection is not required or expected.She has walked, stumbled and fallen “flat on her face” in your shoes. She also got back up to do it again.Start with this book then read her original one as well for a more background and more success stories..You cannot go wrong.!
