As an educator and assessor, I found The Award in Education and Training an accessible and essential guide for anyone new to teaching or exploring a career in education. The second edition remains true to its reputation as a number one bestselling textbook. It is clearly written, thoughtfully structured, and full of real-world examples that bring theory to life.This edition is especially commendable for its timely inclusion of topics such as artificial intelligence, sustainability, and neurodiversity, ensuring it remains relevant in today’s rapidly evolving educational landscape. The practical activities and document samples are incredibly useful for both learners and practitioners aiming to contextualise their learning or enhance their teaching toolkit.I particularly enjoyed the opportunity to contribute by editing a few chapters alongside the author, Ann Gravells. Ann is a fantastic author who writes books for those looking to teach or are already teaching. Packed full of great advice and guidance. The book is also aligned to the Award in Education and Training Level 3 which is the start point for many aspiring teachers. This book will give you the knowledge to create quality assignments and provide the guidance needed to be confident in front of your class. I would recommend adding this book to your reading list and then keep it in your desk draw to use in your day to day career.
