In Baldacci’s virtuosic hands, this is not only a masterpiece of a historical thriller but also a profound and even poetic exploration of the eternal power of friendship, grace, and love to overcome the harshest cruelty of war, hatred, and evil -- Lisa Scottoline, New York Times bestselling author of What Happened To The Bennetts
A riveting story of secrets, betrayals, and unlikely friendships during World War II. An emotional web that keeps spinning – and keeps you guessing – right until the startling finish -- Mitch Albom, New York Times bestselling author of The Little Liar
A totally engrossing novel about war, friendship and the resilience of youth. A book that will stay with you -- Ann Cleeves, Sunday Times bestselling author of the Vera Stanhope and Shetland series
If Dickens had written a novel set in the WWII London Blitz, he could not have bettered this. Captivating, tender, brutal and brilliant -- Peter James, Sunday Times bestselling author of the Roy Grace series
David Baldacci’s foray into historical fiction is a meticulously precise account of what it was like to live through the Blitz in London ― a visceral reminder that war not only levels social classes, but creates the most unlikely and indefatigable bonds between unlikely souls -- Jodi Picoult, New York Times bestselling author of By Any Other Name
Absorbing and deeply researched, Strangers in Time is a celebration of the books that change us, the families we choose, and the capacity we all have to rise from the ashes and find our way home -- Kristin Harmel, New York Times bestselling author of The Paris Daughter
David Baldacci has the audacity to cross boundaries and genres with Strangers in Time, and he does so with aplomb. A rare and terrific exploration of human resilience and courage in the most dire of times . . . I stayed up all night to finish it. A phenomenal read! -- Shana Abé, New York Times bestselling author of The Second Mrs Astor
With an ensemble of endearing and inventive characters, a quirky bookshop and a vivid rendering of wartime London, Strangers in Time is both atmospheric and warm hearted. Ultimately it shows us that, with hope and friendship, humans can survive anything -- Natasha Lester, New York Times bestselling author of The Paris Orphan
The author does a terrific job of transporting the reader back in time to a tumultuous period of living in London, and readers will practically smell the smoke and feel surrounded by rubble from the shattered buildings. Another great tale from a grandmaster storyteller ― firstCLUE

4.0 out of 5 stars Strangers in Time
Good book but very different from Baldacci's usual style.
5.0 out of 5 stars A gripping read.
I just couldn't get through the story quickly enough to find out how each character was getting on. A really good yarn.
3.0 out of 5 stars Not for me
David Baldacci is one of a very few authors that I automatically buy every book as it is published. In future I will check what the book is about. I managed to finish this one but I found it hard going. The content did not hold my interest at all. A very different style of book for him.
5.0 out of 5 stars wow
Big fan of Mr. Baldacci , this has to be one of his top ten tomes . Outstanding piece of writing . Well done .
4.0 out of 5 stars I my view not his best.
Its not the usual fare from this author. Some folks may not like it, its a bit of a standard tale.
5.0 out of 5 stars Truly wonderful
I have enjoyed DBs books for years, but I relish the ones that are different from his more usual stories, this and the Christmas Train being great examples.Being English, the son of a mum that was a similar age to Molly, who lived in London through the Blitz, this book did an incredible job portraying what life must have been like for children who were the victims of the bombing of London and other cities. But it also paints a great picture of the unsung heroes like Oliver who night after night selflessly did what they could to help people survive the war.The story, with the twists and turns had me turning the pages without a break. In conclusion, thank you for a great story and painting a wonderful picture of what it must have been like to live in the heart of London during the awful bombing of WWII. “Lest we forget”.
5.0 out of 5 stars Something different!
I've read all David Baldacci's books and enjoyed them all. Like many, I always order his newest publication. This ,his newest, has been a complete surprise. It's set towards the end of World War two in London It tells the story of two children from two different backgrounds who lives are intertwined with a bookshop owner. What surprised me was how well Baldacci as an American, could write about England and it's people during this time.My only negative comment is that he refers to Ignasious as an air warden, it should be air-raid warden, picky I know!Great book highly recommended by me.
Thank you
Dear David. This was an excellent book. Emotional story about trust, relationships and honour. I have read a lot of your books and your storytelling is always engaging. Thank you.
Very Disappointing - especially given the price
This was, to my mind, a childrens' book in that the language was simplistic and, dare I say it, puerile. There were numerous attempts to describe the horrors hurled at London, but none of them showed real insight. The ending was mawkish and trite.Don't buy it.You will be disappointed.
Lesenswert!
Ein ganz anderer als wir ihn kennen - aber vielleicht sogar besser...
Great novel
Just what I would have expected and wanted from Baldachi - a very entertaining novel
Excellent
I am a big fan of David Baldacci's story telling ability, and with Strangers in Time, he has once again demonstrated why he is hailed as one of the greatest writers of contemporary times. This story is about humanity, war, and hardships, but above all, it is a tale of resilience in the face of adversity.
