5.0 out of 5 stars Love this!

It was recommended this book by my university lecturer as I couldn't justify doing an MA in creative writing. He said this was the next best thing and to work though the book as if doing a university course. So far I've been loving it.

Lots of advice, brilliantly laid out, loads of prompts, fab advice. Is an actual OU text book on one of their creative writing modules which is great. Love this book, it's incredibly helpful, it is now my bible and I could not be without it!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Creative Writing A215

This is the text book for the Open University course A215, Creative Writing.It's a well written introduction.I didn't do the course. I've used it to prepare for an MA course. I missed out the exercises and associated readings.If you are doing the course, I'm not sure that the Kindle form would work so well. There is a printed version.

1.0 out of 5 stars Inaccessible and unhelpful

M.C. · 25 February 2025

As ridiculously inaccessible as the last version. For example, when it comes to free writing, it says 'How to do it? Just let the words tumble out' but doesn't explain how to do that, or what to do if nothing comes to mind. If people are reading a textbook about something, it's because they can't do it, and the textbook should be written for that

Very heavy book..... Large and difficult to carry

D.Z. · 16 May 2024

(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } Does the job.

On time for class

C.P. · 21 November 2023

What I like the most is the price was cheaper than getting electronic access through school. I also like that it's a hard copy that I can access after class is over. Well worth the price and great on delivery as well.
