The Bible is exact as it is describe it above. I am very satisfied with over all quality and I can only recommend it everyone. I hope that this Bible will last to me for a life time (with a regular use).
1.0 out of 5 stars NOT RED LETTER AS IN WORDS OF CHRIST IN RED
Ordered this Bible because it stated that it is a red letter edition Bible which across the Bible industry means that the words of Christ are printed in red in contrast with the rest of the text which is normally in black. In this Bible the headings and chapter/verse numbers are in red, the text is all black! I notice Christianbook.com repeats this erroneous description of this range of Bible's but Thomas Nelson/Zondervans website does not mention the red lettering (they are useless for most details about the Bible not even able to give trim size of weight!). In addition to this disappointment the gilt edge had gluped residue hanging off of it! Very unsatisfactory from Bolo and Thomas Nelson/Zondervan.
An Excellent Leather Covered Single Column Bible
What a great Bible! Beautiful binding, excellent craftsmanship throughout. The single column format is so easy to read and the pages are thick enough you don’t see the text on the next page. I wish I could find other translations in this bible’s quality format.
Excellent Bible
Wow, Thomas Nelson is making some high quality/long lasting Bibles now, if you're a NKJV fan I would recommend buying a new one with the comfort print, not because the print is exceptional (though it is nice to read) but because all their Bibles with comfort print are part of a new production from Thomas Nelson, using better binding, covers, and paper and they're all line matched as far as I know, which makes a huge difference in reading comfort.Anyway, I got the genuine leather of this, but I've picked up the imitation leatherflex they're using these days and it's really nice, I just ordered the Open Bible in imitation leather that they just re-release.This Bible is soo nice for reading in, it's my ideal size, not huge, but the print is big enough to be comfortable, spacing between lines is generous so if you interact with your text with a pen then you'll like this. Nice thick paper too.Super nice Bible, and don't be scared to get the leatherflex imitation leather version to save money, they're really nice.
What a great bible for the money!
There’s a couple other reviews here that give the details on the wonderful features of this bible. I’ve been purchasing bibles for quite a while now and consider myself somewhat of a “collector”. Of all the premium and non premium bibles I’ve purchased over the years, I would have to say that this Thomas Nelson Bible, by far, is the best value for the money that I’ve seen. Everything from the feel, the size, the wonderful font, quality of the paper, and the readability. And it’s genuine leather! For anyone that wants a beautiful bible but doesn’t have or want to spend $100 - $200 on a premium, this is certainly worthy of your consideration. It should get “Bible deal of the year award”. What a great bible! PS. I have no idea why the above reviewer feels the font is too small? I am very sensitive to font and size. This is large.
Great Bible
This is almost everything I hoped for in a bible - comfortable print, nice quality leather cover and paper, single-column pages with references, one-year reading plan, and maps. I love everything this Bible offers! The only other thing I'd hope is that each verse starts on its separate line, but it's no biggie. All in all, a good Bible to have for daily reading at home and in church.
I love this Bible, but I think I need glasses.
Thomas Nelson, you did it again! This is a beautiful Bible at a beautiful price. I love the single-column format with side references. I like that it it does NOT have Christ's words in red (it makes reading a little easier on the eyes). With that said, my only complaint is I wish the references were a little bigger. If I have my reading glasses on it's not a problem, but I got this Bible for the larger type face so I didn't have to use them. The text itself is very readable at the 10.5 point size, but I have to break down and put my glasses on to read the references. I also have the Compact Single-Column Reference Bible... which is the SCR's little brother. I love this Bible too. Again, even at the 9-point size, the text is very readable (that's about my limit), but the references... forget about it! Overall, the NKJV SCR is a great Bible and one I definitely recommend to those of you looking for a NKJV that looks great, is comfortable to read, and feels just as great in the hand. You'll definitely enjoy the experience of getting in God's Word with this Bible.
