This is a really good book showing how to go about keeping up to date with make-up for all ages. It is packed with brilliant pictures and tells you also about what to eat to keep your skin looking lovely. It helps everyone from the beginner to those who've been about a long time. It tells you everything you need to know. In fact I thought it was so good that I've bought a copy for my daughter. I buy a number of her products although they are quite expensive but they do last quite a long time. If you need to go back to basics then this is the book for you.

I've recently gotten into make up and had heard a lot about this book so decided to give it a whirl. Its rather basic, so great for beginners. Its also quite old, so the pictures look a bit 'retro' now I guess, and it doesnt cover newer makeup trends. I bought the Kindle version but would recommend the hard cover version as the hard cover version gives a better overview of the step-by-step instructions (I had a leaf through it in Waterstones the other day). I liked that it includes tips for a range of skin types and colours, as well as bridal make up. Overall, an easy to follow and entertaining read.

I absolutely love this book! I am in my early 40's and only just beginning to play with make-up, I know, can you believe it!? As a teenager I always felt that I made such a hash of putting on make up and really didn't know where to begin anyway or how to choose colours to suit me. I ended up leaving it by the wayside, apart from a little mascara and lipstick/gloss from time to time and on special occasions. However, just a month or so ago I felt inspired to look into it again and asked somebody to recommend a book, to help get me started on the basics. This make-up manual by Bobbi Brown was suggested and within days I had ordered it from Amazon ..... now there's no looking back. It has greatly demystified the use of make-up for me and shown me how to build up from a strong foundation (no pun intended). It is my bible of the moment and I refer to it frequently. This would be a fabulous gift for anyone new to make up, teenage daughters, nieces, grandaughters etc or anybody who would just like a good reference guide for the basics. I am having such fun playing now, experimenting to find colours that suit me, textures, tools etc and am already improving in confidence with my make-up choices, application and on a personal level as I look in the mirror and sometimes actually love what I see! It's amazing what a little make-up can do. I highly highly recommend this book with no reservation. I must admit, Bobbi doesn't always go into as much detail as I would like. For example: I would like more pictures to show exactly how to contour the eyes, instead of a few words telling you what you can do. I have also bought Jemma Kidd's 'Make-up Masterclass' book as an additional reference book and the two seem to complement each other very well. Overall though, if I was picking one book on make-up and how to apply it, this would definitely be 'the one'.

This is best make up book out there. I really love it, its detailed and provides a lot of basic as well as artistry advice. :) Great for both beginners and pros. I especially loved the chapter where she tells you what you need in your kit as a make up artist. :)

I bought this for my daughter's 14th birthday, thinking if she is going to dabble in makeup she may as well do it well. It also goes into the history and changes over the years which I enjoyed. It certainly covers everything from beginner to pro and the layout and colourful photos are fab............ I'm going to buy a copy for myself.

I bought this book over 2 years ago as i was tired of applying make up on a whim thinking it looked good and i can honestly say i still use it to this day! I love Bobbi Brown and her products and i find it so useful that she's made this guide.There are so many make ups books out there but this one is above them all! Strong recommendation for anyone looking to go into the make up industry or just needs some guidance like i did!

Creo que es un libro muy completo, claro y didáctico, tanto para principiantes como para aquellas personas que ya se movían con cierta soltura en el mundo del maquillaje.La única pega es que no lo editen en castellano, aunque se entiende bastante bien (a excepción de alguna palabra que se puede buscar en el diccionario).Se lo recomiendo a todo aquel que esté interesado en aprender a maquillarse bien y que tenga un nivel medio de inglés.

Es un excelente libro llegó en perfectas condiciones está en inglés pero para mí eso no es un tema trae información muy detallada y útil para mi profesión y mis cursos excelente calidad
