This is a great book for introducing someone to DCC it tells you all the intricate details of DCC from fitting loco module and wiring a. DCC layout. Plus troubleshooting what's gone wrong I would recommend this book to anyone who is thinking of having a DVD layout.

This book covers anything you want to know about DCC from the beginner to the experienced all on one book. It covers the more complicated CV settings & profiling speed matching & consists to the basics of track power controllers & loco conversion.A must for any budding DCC enthudiastA bargain at the price.

With a title like this you would assume it's all about DCC, it's not. I'm not sure what the inner workings of a steam locomotive or the history of model railways has to do with it. I was looking for information on programming lighting only decoders, track voltage control etc. All in all a bit of a disappointment.

I don’t profess to know anything about this book but it was bought for a railway modeler and he is very happy with it. Every time i look at him he has his nose in it so i guess it’s a winner!

Very good
A great start to understanding DCC or a great start to a fantastic model railway setup
A great book to get a beginners understanding of DCC, giving an expansion for how DCC works. It also hints into the use of DCC for light and feature control, whether it is to automate and light vehicle crossings, lay-bys and even give you a start for any automation you can conceive. Does not fully discuss limitations, however from my current understanding, the logic of model railway design may need a separate volume. Advanced concepts for railway gradient control of locos and signalling for speed control and sector blocking and signalling may add a few more, but this book gives a great foundation regardless.
