Great pictures to help shape my development as an amateur photographer. Lots of good shots in parts of the country that I know quite well. Perhaps too engineered for my taste, as I prefer not to work with my photos - they are what they are.

I recently got back into photography and came across the Instagram page of Craig Whitehead. After looking at a couple of his posts I instantly grabbed this book and it's one of the best books I've readI really like how the focus is on the technique or rather mindset, rather than gear, settings, exposure triangle etc. It's a great read focusing more on advice than instruction and that really speaks to me. I've already changed the way I look at the world and find myself re-reading a section every couple of days.Would highly recommend this book to people finding their way in photography or looking to push outside of the the "typical" or what's popular

5.0 out of 5 stars What a beautiful book

The media could not be loaded. I’ve wanted this for a while and when I saw on Craig’s instagram it was included in the prime sale I was thrilled. Some absolutely stunning visuals in here with really brilliant tips to open up your mind to how to go about being a street photographer I’m really looking forward to diving into this book and improving my own street photography techniques!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book. This guy knows his stuff

R. · 7 July 2025

I have looked at quite a few books. This one really is very good compared to the others. Maybe I just like his style, but it is well worth spending on this one whoever you are.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book for Beginners

I'm trying to get into street photography and found this a really inciteful book with lots of advice on how to look for the shots and references back to other photographs to see different styles.

3.0 out of 5 stars good read

S. · 6 March 2024

it was an ok read

Good motivational support along your journey

T. · 21 March 2024

Struggling to find my style and sometimes walk the streets for hours without taking any shots, or sometimes take shots of something I think looks good only to find out later that none of them work when I review them at home. Seems it’s all part of the process and this book helps you understand the journey into street photography. It’s all about capturing the things you see in the way you see it and not necessarily how others may have seen it. Gave me some good motivational support to keep me out on the streets, to try new things, and not to give up. I know my style is there somewhere I just need to find it similar to how Craig Whitehead found his and describes it in his book. I enjoyed reading it.

Top!!

fantastic!

T. · 19 August 2025

Great book to get you thinking and enjoyable to read. For contrast, I purchased two well-known and recommended photography books…I returned them. They were dull, critical and uninspiring. This book will make you want to get out and shoot.

Uma aula de street photography

R.R. · 27 February 2024
