Women's Anatomy of Arousal: Secret Maps to Buried Pleasure

Description:

AS SEEN ON NETFLIX'S SEX LOVE & GOOP. WINNER, 2010 AASECT BOOK OF THE YEAR AWARD! (AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF SEX EDUCATORS, COUNSELORS & THERAPISTS).

"The most comprehensive, user-friendly, practical and uplifting book on women's sexuality I've ever read. It's the gold standard!" -Dr. Christiane Northrup.

Women have a largely unknown network of structures responsible for arousal and orgasm that their owners and even most medical professionals don't know about. We're not just talking about Ye Olde G-Spot here. Women have an entire erectile network that, if properly stimulated, can elevate their erotic experience from "Oh!" to "Oh! Oh! Oh!"

Join celebrated sexuality teacher Sheri Winston as she integrates ancient wisdom, lost knowledge and modern sexuality information in a sexy, fun, empowering guidebook that illuminates every woman's secret paths to fabulous, orgasmically abundant sex. Whether you're a woman or a man who loves women, this book is for you!

There's great information here, but that's not why Winston wrote the book. She wrote it to transform people's lives and support them to reclaim their erotic birthright. And what she shares works! When people apply her information and techniques, the result is often a whole new level of sexual pleasure. Many women experience their first ejaculations and/or become multi- or mega-orgasmic. Men learn how to make their female partner REALLY happy!

Women's Anatomy of Arousal includes discussions of anatomy and energetics, female ejaculation and expanded orgasm, and much more. It's packed with sidebars providing great tips to women and their lovers. There's even a short chapter for guys ("The Easy Girl's Guide to Making It Easy for Guys") summarizing the main points of the book!

Winston's background includes over twenty years as a nurse-midwife, gynecology practitioner and student of the ancient erotic traditions. Over the years, she has developed her own unique approach to sexuality education: Wholistic Sexuality. Now her teachings are available in this fun, fascinating, immensely readable book that can transform your sex life for the better.

2.0 out of 5 stars Too much mumbo jumbo to be of any real usefulness

A.C. · 2 January 2015

I can't believe the amount of positive reviews that this book elicits: on the US version of Bolo, there are 90 5-star reviews on a book about sexuality that has very little science behind it. Or maybe the lack of science is the reason why people give it such a high rating. Let me make it clear that the book is not completely worthless: there are tiny bits of useful stuff, here and there, but they are so lost in the whole woo-woo claptrap that I cannot in any way recommend this book to anyone except to people that already share the author's new age view of the world and like to have it confirmed by sheer repetition.Apart from that, on a more personal note, I find the use of terms like yoni for the female sexual organ (and similar for male organs) just plain silly. the English language has no shortage of words for the genitalia there's absolutely no reason to use strange words that most people are not familiar with. Except, as mentioned above, your target audience is people that share your strange view that people in other times and places were somehow better than people in the modern western world.Another personal dislike (so your YMMV) is the continuous use of "goddess" for women; full disclosure, I am a male, but I would feel just as off-put if males were called "gods" in the book. First, being an atheist, I find such language silly. Second, if every person is a god/ess as people like the author want us to believe, than surely it means nothing else than saying wo/man. If everyone is a deity, then deity just means people and we are back to using non standard language when a perfect adequate word already exists for no other reason (apparently) than to confuse. If I right a book and start referring to the word "red" by using the word "blue" or even by the word "red" in some strange foreign language, it would serve absolutely no purpose than causing a slower reading thanks for the need for more mental effort to continuously translating words into common language. The author also refuses to use common names for organs on the account that these were men, and they did not have such parts (for example, g-spot, from Gräfenberg, Or skene's glands, from Alexander Skene). According to this ridiculous idea, people could give their name to things that were part of them, so flowers, animals, diseases, planets, stars, molecules, etc could never be named. One wonders on which grounds the author defends such an idea other than she doesn't like the standard names for body parts. I am sure she is right now campaigning to change the name of such common things as Pasteurisation (from Louis Pasteur, who clearly did not have pasteurisation in his body) to something else.My last (small) complain about this book is that it follows the common narrative that female sexuality and health is regarded as non-important by the current culture. This is so contrary to reality that, being only a minor point in the book, merits a comment. Look at any sex shop and compare the number of items available for women (ignore things like lingerie that, while for use by women, can be argued that are for the benefit of men - I will leave it to another day the rebuttal of that hypothesis) to the ones available for men. There are hundreds of dildos and vibrators, strap-ons, wands, eggs, etc., etc. Compare that to what is available for men. Not only is the number of available items a much shorter list, the quality is also much lower (example, vibrating toys for men, when most men get nothing out of vibrations: women's orgasm is in great part aided by vibrations, while men's is much more dependent on friction).Same with Women's health: think of the last health campaign you can remember: chances are it was for things like breast cancer, or any of the other women's cancers and illnesses. There's virtually not a day that doesn't go by when some "survivor" women come on television to talk about her bravery. I have nothing against anything that is done to help people not to suffer or get sick; but please don't pretend that our culture doesn't care about women's problems. We are bombarded every day with messages about women's health concerns. Virtually every man will end up with protrate cancer, and yet, you very seldom see any campaign to raise its awareness. So I would say women's health is at the top of our culture's priority. And rightly so. Just don't pretend otherwise.

Wonderful. Just wonderful!
