No fuss patterns, and don't worry about hems and so on, but just get on and enjoy it and the results while you learn. I can't fault the approach - it does everything to encourage their enthusiasm and nothing to stifle it. It's fun and they learn from it.

This is the best children's introduction to dressmaking that I have seen. It shows children the basics of pattern cutting and the construction of clothes in a simple, easy to follow way. A child will also get experience of different stitches as he or she progresses, and learn to sew on trims, buttons and sequins. Within one day the 10-year old that I gave it to had created an embellished top and skirt for a Barbie, almost entirely by herself. The confidence she gained was priceless. I have bought other dolls clothes books in the past, but even the simplest of them was too complicated - this one is perfect for a child taking those first steps into dressmaking. If I could give it ten stars I would.

It's a nice book but bear in mind it's for children,so although the patterns are fine (simple and easy) there are not many of them. No trousers! I've made a few things,quite pleased.

Great book arrived this afternoon I’ve already made a coat a skirt and a dress. Minimal sewing. Been doing this with my 8 yr old. You trace the patterns then cut out fabric and sew the sides so simple. We then used a hot glue gun to add all the trims and detail. Haven’t even bothered with poppers/buttons as they are staying on

Received item damaged. This is a gift so bit gutted of the presentation I have to give this as. But the instructions of the book look simple and easy to follow which is perfect for my beginner daughter. Instructions do suggest hand needle and thread but we will be using a sewing machine.

Basic patterns which are ideal for making very simple Barbie clothes. Lovely hard back book that is designed for children to follow. My eight year old has loved making her first Barbie clothes and accessories, it has been a real hit!

Great for younger readers who have big sewing ideas! Instructions are short, clearly written and the pages are laid out in such a way that younger readers are not overwhelmed.

Altmodische Schnitte sehr, sehr einfach. Keine Hosen. Überaus genau bebilderte Anleitungen. Einige sehr originelle Ideen und hilfreiche Tipps. Für Kinder super geeignet.

My daughter, even if she doesn't speak or read English, she lookes at the images and is able to create clothes to her dolls, she loved it, it was a gift from Santa. It is a step by step for children, I reccomend it.

This is the best truly beginner sewing book I’ve seen! If your kid is into fashion design, and just wants to get started playing with fabric, this is the book they need.My kiddo has used this book to design several different outfits. We put different tops and bottoms together sometimes to make dresses of different shapes.There isn’t any seam allowance on these patterns (see photo, for example), but nowadays there often aren’t hems on “professionally made” fashion doll outfits, anyway, and skipping a step helps young children achieve success sooner! I think it’s a fantastic book.
