Chris Collins has been a full-time food blogger since 2017. Through combining his love and skill of videography and creating quality recipes, Chris has built a strong following on social media, with hundreds of thousands of visitors visiting his blog every month to create his trusted recipes.
Alongside winning in the culinary category at the UK Blog Awards in 2019, Chris has also been featured in the Vuelio Top 10 Food Blogs in both 2021 and 2022. I've been a follower of Chris's blog for about a year now and have made numerous dishes from his recipes. The book had been advertised on there and it perked my interest but didn't really think I'd make much use of a book considering I bookmark everything online. Today I made a stab at the first recipe - Sausage Rigatoni pasta, simple cupboard ingredients with a few very cheap additions - nutmeg and fennel are two things I never use and so I feel with the title of the book being "Comfy", I figured I'd better get comfy myself with the idea of venturing beyond salt, pepper, paprika and garlic - they served the dish very well.After a quick gander through the recipes, I can definitely see 95% of them being attempted numerous times going forward.Love the design, easy to read recipes, nothing too tedious. The opening chapter about how Chris got to where he was and continued to be proud of the feedback is what made me buy the book, I appreciate when someone comes from nothing with their mind set and having success especially when it involves food.Thoroughly recommend this cookbook to anyone that likes a kitchen cupboard dinner; where the ingredients are ALMOST always available in shops (looking at you gnocci). Even if you're weary of buying the physical edition, I'm sure the kindle version will serve you and your dinner plate well.

Unlike other recipe books this uses normal ingredients that doesn't require a jar of something that will never ever be used again and where you have to visit an artisan shop 50 miles away full of bearded individuals to buy in the first place. I'm talking about you Jamie Oliver.The recipes are delicious and the instructions clear with fantastic photography, whats not to like!

This book is the ultimate cookbook! It has every recipe you could think of! The cook book is written incredibly well, so that it is easy to follow. I have already made unstuffed peppers and I can tell you they were absolutely delicious. I absolutely loved reading about the talented author and his journey. You can see he has a real passion for his work and is very relatable. This cookbook has easy meals that me and my family will enjoy after work! Truly delicious and a beautiful cookbook. I can’t wait to try more recipes!

I’ve been a fan of Chris Collins on-line for a long time - as “Don’t go Bacon my heart”, I followed his recipes regularly. Bought the book and found it to be easy to read, great instructions, fabulous photos. I cooked his sweet and sour chicken tonight and had a complete thumbs up from the whole family. No special ingredients that you have to buy online - everything was in my cupboard and freezer. The book is fabulous for new cooks and old hands like me - I’m so glad I bought it.

We first found Chris on Don't go Bacon my heart website and had enjoyed many of his recipes from there, when we discovered he'd written a book, we pre-ordered it, seems the least we could do, to support him, given the joy we'd had from his amazing website.Well, we were not too be disappointed. It's awesome. Now, to temper this, we've only had the book a few weeks so pinky done a few different recipes, but they've been bangers.In all cases, we tried them before then serving them to guests also whom have also loved them.The recipes are easy to follow in all cases haven't needed any adjustment and they've been a delightful.Really enjoying this book and it's our current go straight to cook book, because the meals are just so tasty and enjoyable. 👍

Amazing recipes and it's all made from scratch! It has explanations, photos, sauce recipes, everything you need really. Great quality book, I see this lasting a very long time. Highly recommend!
Comfy recipes & elegant book
-The recipes are tasty, and easy to follow. They are also creative but not too complicated. I found a lot of new foods that I could not found elsewhere.-The photos look great.-The recipe notes are very useful, it really adds a lot to the experience.-Very good formatting.-The quality of the book cover and the pages are great, however the art/design of the front cover is average. While it's not bad at all, there is definitely room for improvement to make it look more professional (I reviewed the final cover).-Summary: Worth buying, it's a perfect cookbook if you love comfy foods. Check out the author's Youtube shorts (channel name: Dont Go Bacon My Heart) to know what kind of recipes you should expect in this book.
