5.0 out of 5 stars PERFECTION
THE ONLY ONE OUTSTANDING ITEM..
5.0 out of 5 stars Ideal for short attention span keen learners like me
I love the format of this book, full of info graphics and small paragraphs that are well written and straight to the point. It's written and presented in such a way that makes it easy to. Dip in and out of and makes the facts and new knowledge easy to approach and digest. This book has clearly been made for someone like me who loves to learn yet struggles with a short attention span. It's kind of like a cross between Instant Expert and Idiots Guide. The illustrations are so clear. They're basic but it's great because they're not complicated. The written text is not overly complicated nor does it use too complex language. It's written in such an approachable fashion that makes it entirely suitable for the regular person. The physical quality of this book is as expected, a high standard. Well bound, flawless bright and bold printing.
4.0 out of 5 stars Compact but comprehensive
I ordered this to use in the classroom, as interesting non-fiction books are always welcome. I really like the size of this, as often non-fiction books such as atlases or books about space, are large and difficult to read at a small desk, or carry home. It's not a highly-coloured book, so if you're after something with lots of illustrations it would be better to go for one of the big books. But the content is well laid-out and up to DK's normal high standards. It's unusual to find something with information set out like this, that's suitable for younger children (I teach 10 and 11 year olds). So far it's proved popular with my pupils, and it's definitely the sort of book that appeals to children who are interested in science and space.
5.0 out of 5 stars A simple but interesting book
I loved this little book from the moment I opened the packaging. The hard cover gives the book a quality feel and the simplistic design gives a hint of the easily digestible and interesting contents. The fact that the book lays bare quite a complex subject in a simple, easy to read way makes it perfect for anyone needing a starter text, or children with an interest in astronomy. The images are clear and detailed enough and the language lends itself to a broad range of reading abilities.Overall, this book is executed well. Recommended.
5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic!
I am really happy with this book. The book is a nice hardcover with simple, yet striking design in an A5 size which is compact and easy to travel with. The book itself is written very well, I ordered the Astronomy book which gives a great general overview of this topic in a simple way. There are nice illustrations within the book as well to help advise on the topic of discussion. I think this is a great useful book to grasp a general understanding of the topic.Very happy and I would be interested in ordering more books from this range as it is super useful, easy/comfortable to read and can be stored easily. Great value.
5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing for beginners
After Simply Philosophy and Super Simple Biology, we ended up getting the Simply Astronomy and we definitely recommend this series of books from DK simply as it is very informative. In sum this book does what the title says, it simplifies the field and can serve as an introductory reading for anyone of any age category to get to know some basics about the field without the need to have background knowledge. We like the combination of visuals and writing, and the interactivity maintained throughout this book also helps to clarify things better.
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book
This is a great book. It is set out in a really clear and concise way. It is written well and clearly so it is easy to understand. I particularly like the reference guide for pattens in the sky. The illustrations are really clear and helpful. The book is easy to dip in and out of as needed. Great for beginners or those just trying to get a better understanding of astronomy.
5.0 out of 5 stars A very good book
This book is very interesting. Has lots of pictures and will be perfect for someone who has passion astronomy. My son loves it, and i find it very interesting as it's showed most of the constellations we know today date from early recorded history.
Easy and interesting
Interesting topic and discussions
DK Simply always Simply
The media could not be loaded. Very good book . . . . . . . Very interesting
if you like Astronomy, buy it
Really nice book. Great information and beautiful illustrations! Recommended.Kids love the illustrations and ask questions to understand. Exactly what is required.
Was too basic
Didn't have any photos, just hand drawn illustrations. And most importantly, the astronomical terms are very basic, one or three sentences each.Wasn't happy with that especially the price charged by the seller, including import charges. The price of this book is around the same as DK's How series - so it's better to get DK how Space as it has more interesting info.Just check and compare the discounts available on both books before placing order.
Stellar Simplicity and Clarity
Having just finished reading two “scholarly” books on astronomy, I found myself thinking to these other authors, “Why didn’t you just say this?” It was the perfect companion to books that chronicled the history of cosmic discoveries and the complexity of tht night sky. I recommend that everyone who wishes they knew something about the sky they’gazing into with awe tuck this book under their arm and use it as a guide-that’s stargazers from 9 to 99.
