Though we've found our six, almost seven year old daughter has found this headings quick and easy to find and the sections are broken down in manageable chunks that is easier to grasp for someone quite new and unfamiliar to the topic at large.The are a great deal of photographic imagery, illustrative images and simple diagrams and graphs to aid in the delivery of the topic of extreme weather which pretty much, comes up the extent of this book. But it does so very well, it's well researched, heavy on scientific data and made available to little minds in a very good child-friendly manner.As the book has a large amount of real life imagery, the visual learning aspect gives plenty of food for thought.Our little one has learned a vast amount on "freaky weather" -as she calls it - from this book alone, she is new at exploring the topic. This book is good enough to see her through any talk or written work she will need to undertake as she continues through Key Stage 1.

This book is an excellent learning tool. It contains 34 Sections of topics relating to Hurricanes and Tornado’s, from Weather Folklore right through to Timeline.The illustrations and photographs are amazing and each provides a small written note which is clear and easy to understand.My Grandson was over the Moon when I gave it to him and found it really interesting and easy to follow.I recommend this book as a very useful addition to your Child’s book collection.The quality is fantastic, hence my giving it 5 stars.

Great for dipping into but not for hard research. Priced well to tickle curiosity and buy.Heavily into illustrations with captions. Could read as a family and discuss, answering the children's questions. This would help understand the weather news from around the world, especially the catastrophes.

If you have kids who like to learn, and are curious about weather related natural disasters, then this book really is for them!Both kids read this book cover to cover in the 1st day I've got it. It's full of fact and illustrations. It's been written in a way which keeps them interested.I've been told this is a super book by 2 children, and on account of that and the fact it was educational and entertaining, I definitely recommend it.

My eldest son (nearly 8) really enjoys non-fiction reference books like this. This one about extreme weather and natural disasters was a big hit with him. There are loads of facts and detailed illustrations, plenty of things to learn. We have lots of DK books and always look out for new titles and this one did not disappoint.As a bonus, the book also comes with a nice fold out wall-chart that is stuck inside the front cover.

I ordered this for my daughter and can say it's yet another great fact book from DK publishing.My daughter loves to learn so if you have a child who is similar or just loves to know about averse weather I would recommend this book.Ordered for a 10 year old with a good standard of reading.

Great pictures and information
My 11yo son absolutely loves this book. He's into learning about extreme weather and he found this book to be very descriptive, easy to understand and thought the pictures were fantastic. The cover and pages are of good quality as well.
