This was a book that delighted my children so I ordered as a Xmas gift for a child I know. It is beautifully illustrated by the author and invites participation during the reading. 'Oi Get Off Our Train'

Wonderful illustrations and the story line is ok, I think it is ok that it's a bit confusing as it gives parents a chance to talk about what's going on. The repetition is great. I think this suits a slightly older child (say 4/5 who just wants to relax while read to and can join in the "oi, get...." bit).

A great read for a two year old. Lots of action, a train- always popular- and lots of endangered species so very PC. I put it in a book bag and included all the animals which I bought in charity shops for next to nothing. Most popular however were the snowballs I made from wool! The animals have a snowball fight and we did too.!

A fantastic book for the kids my niece absolutely ADORES IT. She demands it be read to her whenever it is brought round and I even brought a copy for my friends little girls, who now tell me repeatedly to 'OI! GET OFF OUR TRAIN!'
New favorite bed story
Bought because my 2.5 year old loves the netflix animation. I loved this book much more than the animation, as does he. the illustration are beautiful and dreamy, great to encourage creative thinking. He loves to make the animal sounds, to see what type of play they will engage on the next stop, and follow their train though shine, rain and snow. The ecology message of the book is a plus, that we all need to take responsibility on our actions and embrace the environment. True love for all family!
ちょっとがっかり、だけど魅力たっぷり
SL義経号を題材にバーニンガムが日本の子どもたちのために書き下ろした絵本だそうです。だからといって特に日本っぽくはなく、次々と出てくる動物の中に丹頂鶴（？）がいるのと、風景に東洋っぽい建物が描かれているところが日本を意識して描いたの？と思えるところです。自然保護を訴えた内容になっていて、そこはがっかりな部分もありますが、それを意識しなければ絵本としてはバーニンガムの魅力たっぷりです。男の子が眠りについて朝起きるまでの間のお話なので、お子さんには寝る前に読んであげるといいと思います。わたしは充分大人ですが、イヌのパジャマケースを枕の横に置いて眠りたくなりました。

Great art with a charming story
One of our favorite books, read often to our 4 children. We particularly enjoyed the illustrations- many remind me of paintings by the English painter Turner. The story can be read on many levels, and I think it wrong to focus soley on the "endangered animals" aspect. Instead, read it as you would "where the wild things are". Moms can be grumpy, animals can be wild, weather can be variable, children can be selfish, and selfish children can become heroic.

子供のためのと思って購入しましたが、環境問題について考えさせられる内容で親の私が大変気に入りました。環境汚染で危機に追いやられている動物たちが男の子の夢の中で列車に乗せてくれるように頼みます。ソフトなタッチの絵で優しい気持ちになれます。これからの地球環境のために子供たちと一緒に毎日読みたい１冊です。
