A very good book but tends to repeat things within same paragraph

4.0 out of 5 stars Measurements

S. · 5 August 2024

Very good information in the book ,being brought up in the metric system of engineering ,took a while to get use to theImperial units of measurement

5.0 out of 5 stars Electrical vehicle knowledge you need to know

s. · 1 July 2020

I enjoyed reading this book, it gave me knowledge and understanding of electrical vehicle history and development. It also inspires me to commence a project on a classic car electrical conversion..

3.0 out of 5 stars You will have to have already a good knowledge or conversions before taking on this book

P.D. · 2 May 2020

Very literal needs more picture examples

4.0 out of 5 stars Useful.

A.C. · 16 November 2015

If you are looking for a strictly technical book that describes kerb loading, anti dive chassis design, circuitry, motor systems etc then there some of that in this book. Useful in that it has links to various sites that supply new ev kit from motors and controllers to batteries. However it delves a bit much, for me, into the history of the electric car, the green initiatives and examles of current ev units from the main car makers. I don't need persuading that electric is a good idea and so much of the first two thirds of this is dedicated to argument for and counter argument that essentially means nothing to me. About a quarter of the book is actually useful to me, as a long time self build car enthusiast. If you want a history and reasoning for ev cars as well as some tech info then it's well written and full of info and i would class it as worth the money.. Some very useful math and a load of charts. The kindle version has live net links to other sites for info and suppliers. I have read it twice now and on my third currently.Loses one star as i wanted a more heavily technical publication which i suspect would in fact not be as large a book overall.

1.0 out of 5 stars I couldn't even open it to have a look

C.G. · 9 June 2023

Dissatisfied

2.0 out of 5 stars Good introduction but unsuitable for an experience reader or engineer

J.M. · 26 August 2020

The book gives some good introductory information about EV technology but it does not go any further than that. The use of US imperial units is very frustrating especially because the equations that were used to built the tables or come up with a mentioned value are not provided. Also it is the first time I have seen equations written using words instead of universally recognised symbols. Finally in quite a few cases the writer refers to an equation, a table or a schematic that does not exist in the book.Quite confusing

4.0 out of 5 stars Good read but a few annoying little aspects. worth buying for a dedicated ev converter.

A.G. · 6 December 2014

I liked the book as it covered many aspects of E.V. conversion that I wanted to know in great detail, however for the average reader it was a little wordy and could be hard to understand. It also was a little long for my liking and only had American units (i.e. imperial) whereas in Britain we tend to use metric units, so unless you are familiar with American units then it might prove to be a challenge to understand. despite these downfalls if you are dedicated to converting to electric this should be a worthwhile read if read in short concise bits. Also I would say that the book is very well split up in to convenient chapters making it easy to navigate through the book.

book has a good contain of knowledge with out of studying material and satisfactory delivery by Bolo. All over book's material good.

Not bad introduction to the subject

r. · 5 January 2019

Contains interesting information. Still the little maths about driving mechanics is not well explained and uses miles instead of the metric system

don't buy

a. · 2 April 2025

Not as good as the original edition, little information of any use.

Thanks. As mentioned.

Viel Redundanz

A.K. · 20 September 2018
